I sure am glad they made the forum switch *the night before* the game goes live, so theres *plenty* of time to deal with any performance issues when everyone pounds the site tomorrow to get DLC...:innocent:

I'm oooooold! And I'm not happy! And I don't like things now compared to the way they used to be.
All this progress -- phooey! In my day you had Bulletin Board Systems (BBS).
You connected over a phone line -- that's right a phone line.
None of this high falutin' DSL either. We connected over 110 baud modems -- took us 5 hours just to open a picture. That's the way it was -- and we liked it!
High speed -- heh! High speed is for sissies.
Gosh darn new social sites just 'aint natural.
If I wanted to be social -- I'd go outside.
The reason I'm at my computer in the first place is because I'm anti-social.
Hmphh! Progress.

I'm none too happy about it either, but ...
Constant complaining about this one is not going to make it better.
We will have to make the best of it and let the moderators know what we believe will improve things here.
Mayhap we can make a difference.
I for one would like to see the left and right margins go away, or be greatly reduced, in order to make more room for these discussions, which is what I come here for.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.
When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

The poll section is cool too.
My only complaint is the formating in the quick reply.
Wait, testing testing
They are a bit slower because of increased traffic, but that should get fixed soon, once everyone starts playing the game instead of being on the forums.

Anyway to change the layout to wide aspect so that the actual forum content uses more than the middle 1/3 of my monitor? Its 2009, surely 16:9 and 16:10 are more common than 4:3 and 5:4 panels now?
+1 on that.

Hey Chris, would it be possible to suggest to the webheads for an option in "My Content" that reverts these forums into a similar version of the older format?

-The entire left margin including a picture of my avatar and all my options, etc. could be changed into a header or a footer, so the forum discussions can use the whole screen width.
-all the "hot topic" and other icons could be changed from these abstract paintings with flares of color into crisp non-eye straining icons similar to the old forum
-character backgrounds weren't all black... I'm sure I remember picking a lighted background... It appears all our avatars are lost in the same black void... this forum for example...
