Here's a "would you rather" question for ya. Would you rather be happy that the game finally came out and just keep it the way it is now, or if it was delayed until Summer 2013 if...

1. We got well lengthed, fantastic endings with different degrees of success, that actually reflect on the choices you made in the entire trilogy.
2. Love interests were given a lot more attention, scenes and gameplay features.
3. The final battle on Earth was a lot longer and had an actual final boss.

Note: This is all under the assumption that Ending DLC will NEVER come out.

Waiting is -always- preferable to an incompleted product.

I would have waited 5 years if that's what it took to get it perfect.

Absolutely 100% delayed.

A longer production process makes anticipation higher. But given this was the finale to the Mass Effect trilogy the anticipation couldn't be any higher regardless. Consequently getting it RIGHT is more important than getting it out.

I would have happily waited and played The Witcher 2 in the meantime (once it comes out on xbox). Now, I'm buying The Witcher 2 to get the rpg fix ME3 couldn't provide :(.

I would have been a little upset but I would have waited. Then the writing team could have actually fixed the ending and given us some side quests that weren't just fetch quests.

I could have waited a year for it not to be ruined.

I think this question answers itself, especially if you're a fan of fantasy book series, or just of good things in general. We'd all rather they had taken the time to actually flesh the game out.

Another year and this game would of made my brain explode into a million pieces. Imagine how amazing this game could have been with an extra year. It would have had more than one endings, thats for sure.

I always side with developers when they delay for some reason or another. Hell, I'm still just waiting patiently for HL3 or HL2: EP3 without any grudge against the developers.

But what if they decide to release Mass Effect 3: Extended Edition in the summer of 2013?

A full release version of the current game but with a few additional maps and additional / revised ending(s). Would you pay full price for that?

Would have HAPPILY waited. This game needed a little more time in the oven to flesh out the ending, expand on the ME2 crew and LIs and add an epilogue.

How would extra time have helped the ending? It was pretty clear the team decided that this ending is how they wanted it to be and it wasn't due to time constraints.  It was a design/writing decision. This is why I can't take most discussions regarding the ending seriously. People either don't know what goes on in game development or they're just angry and are finding out insane Bioware conspiracy theories why the ending is they way.

OMG, multiplayer event! Must be Bioware conspiracy. Free SWTOR weekend! Videos on youtube. The entire BW team didn't want the ending. Casey Hudson and EA must have forced them! It must have been rushed. Blah blah blah blah blah.

cancelled my SWTOR account because I will have to pay for the ending DLC with money from somewhere out of my gaming budget. I dont want any other developers to miss out on my cash because of Bioware caved in to an unrealistic deadline set by EA.
