I am interested at all the controversy that is going around due in part to the ending to the game, and I feel like both groups, those that are fine with the ending and those that wish for a change, have their own defending points. I thought about breaking down how the game plays out in those thought provoking end moments that I played through, and pull out just a few questions that I have (and I know other people do as well) I want to start by saying that I love this game overall, and to me it is one of the greatest games I have ever played. For me the questions started rising though at the moment when shepard and other Alliance members are doing a mad dash towards the transport beam to the citadel.
Question #1: Why didn't the soldiers drive their vehicles toward the light beam?
- This isn't even a big one for me, because to me that just makes a good amount of sense. A mako would be a lot bigger than just a bunch of human targets spread out running toward a beam. One thing that is interesting to me though is that when you finally make it within 100-150 feet and Harbinger's laser hits the ground in front of you, we don't actually see the laser make contact with Shepard, the screen just goes white.
Question #2: From the time Shepard wakes up from being hit by Harbinger, could he possibly be facing indoctrination?
-Yes, I am a slight indoctrination theorist, which I feel like people have the right to be because of that one ending where you see a chest rising with N7 on it, that to me gives people a valid point. The scene does play out quite interesting, and I actually have a link to a theory video:
So Shepard wakes up after jumping into the beam, and he hears Anderson talking to him, saying how he cane thru the beam with him but ended up at another location, then went on to describe a hallway and a casm that he was in, and he finally gets to the control panel. I am still trying to figure how he got there first since there was really only one way to the place. I don't quite understand that part so if anyone has their own ideas I would love to hear them. I hear certain people ask about where the Illusive Man came from, but I really don't have a problem on that one since he came up from behind them.
Question #3: Why was the Control option blue, with the character being the Illusive Man (A Renegade) and the Destroy option was red, with the character being Anderson (A Paragon)?
-This was an interesting point to me. Throughout all three games we are classically conditioned that Blue is the natural Paragon Choice, while Red is the natural Renegade choice. The end segment offers you the same two color choices, but Instead flips the Characters that define those choices on you, almost as if there is something directing you not to?
I have more questions I will put up soon, but right now...
It's Pizza Time.
My Analysis of the Ending (With an attempt at answering some odd questions)
