Does anyone here know what the heads -- the ones we select during character creation -- are numbered? I want to replace them.
Or, how would I go about finding that information within the game files?

I think it's all the heads named P_XXX_Headxx (XXX for race and gender), mostly they range from 1 to 10 for most races.
You can find the models in the DATA sub repertory of NWN 2. They are stored in a compressed format and you need to decompress the files. For exemple base models are stored in NWN2_Models, and the textures for theses meshes are in NWN2_Materials
