Maybe I'm too ‘the ends justify the means’, but am I the only Sparkster happy with her portrait? I don't particularly care how much sweat, blood, or other bodily fluids were excreted in the making, provided that the result works, and I think it does.

I liked the Tali in game too, but like many others, it just seemed to "human" for my taste.

This would be a PERFECT look for Tali, yet it fits with both the lore and feel of ME. Godammit BW; if you had to use an already existing pic for Tali's face, why didn't you pick this?! D:

Maybe I misunderstand you, but what is there in the lore that suggests anything about quarian faces?

Also, personally, I think the swept-back fleshy scalp appendage thing is done enough with the asari, turians, drell, and, in a way, salarians. Differently arranged or textured scalp appendages have become the Mass Effect answer to Star Trek's forehead ridges. I think quarians being more human than the others under their suits is poetic in comparison. It's been strongly suggested, after all, that the distrust the Council races have tended to direct toward humans is rooted greatly in their similarity to the quarians prior the geth rebellion.

Indeed. I still don't quite understand why they didn't do something like this. Hell, they could have taken a photo of Liz Sroka (who's rather pretty), doctored it like they did with the stock photo, put her in the suit without the hood/mask and I think folks would have been okay.

As it is, the Stock Photo isn't even accurate. It appears to be a Photo taken on Rannoch in the more fertile landmass where the Quarians settled and Tali isn't wearing much except a blanket (i.e. what the woman was wearing in the stock photo) which goes *completely* against was she tells Shepard about the Quarians needing at least a few years before they could be outside thier suit.

Yes, I'm aware that Tali takes off her mask for a few moments on the cliff, but a mask is alot different then a whole suit. If they had gone with a photo like the above, and at least put the background of a building interior behind her it would have made a bit more sense. (Sigh) Ah well, it's not like that was the only major FUBAR.

Heh. As much LULZ I am getting from this thread, it also reminds me just how much respect in Bioware I lost when they used a photoshop pic for Tali's face. The one thing people had been waiting for since '07 and they use a photoshop pic? Oy. Respect points went down by like over 9,000. Okay, bad pun but you get what I'm saying.
