And if your going to go off reading the books you need to know that a lot of **** will be a miss representation. Or they will be changed for game play needs look at Halo.

Well... there is MAGIC in the game, so magic rune etched swords, not far off, or maybe lithium etched, idk, but I'm sure fighting with a staff that shot bolts of fire out of it wasn't exactly time accurate either.

the fact that the smith know of starmetal could mean, that cailans sword is also Star Metal, a legendary sword he would made.

Well for one i think he is trying to say that the king was using a two hander not a sword and shield. And I also think the was trying to say that the design for that sword is unrealistic for the times. I wouldn't know seeing as how i was never alive then... nor was i in a fake video game world.


Smithing during medieval times was fairly limited in design.  Blades did not possess a lot of variety or artistic curvatures.  That being said, DA:O is fantasy, so...
