So I was playing on my Quarian Infiltrator today and I noticed something that should help with these enemies.

Shooting them from behind seems to do at the most, double the damage as a shot from the front.

I was using a MK V  Widow rifle, with a level 5 Barrel and level 1 armor pen mod.  Using level 3 and 2 anti-armor rounds, I was effectively able to 2 shot these mobs while cloaked.  From the front, it took roughly 3-4 shots.  Numbers are innacurate because just in those instances I was firing at them along with my teammates.  But while the rest of the squad was elsewhere or incapacitated, and I was soloing a Brute, 2 shots from behind killed them every time.

Basically, wait for the thing to charge and sidestep, then line up some shots while it recovers.

i believe shooting them in the shoulder region where there is flesh does a good amount of damage also atleast better damage then shooting them in the head there was a thread around here somewhere that compared how long it took to kill enemys based on where you shot them will have to go look for it

I will try that next. Going to burn some bioware points to get a few specter kits in the mean time.

Shoot them in the back, and if you're using a class that relies on the heavy pistol make sure you're packing the Carnifex. Don't waste your rockets on brutes, they're easy as ****. Save then for when you get hit by banshee/brute combos and use them on the banshee.

Yea i also realize that, it should be around the red dots area, shoulder etc.
Cant find any red dots on brutes though.

That's a solid point. Brutes seem to lack ablative armor on the back, while the front has large plates that blow off under fire, but until destroyed prevent damage. Do your experiences suggest that this is more then that?

Ah... hmm - I'm not sure why your
empirical testing would have come up with some of that - but here's how
it's "supposed" to be. Image IPB

Banshee
- No weak points (aim for the belly, as it's fattest - most likely to hit it)

Brute
- Takes reduced damage in the right arm
- Takes greatly reduced damage in the claw
- Armour Plates absorb damage until breaking (best to aim for exposed flesh, probably base of the neck?)
- No other weak points

Geth Prime
- Currently has a head volume (but it's a bug)

Atlas
- Some types of weapons will do increased damage to the cockpit (this is a bug)
- Destroy any of the following to do a small damage spike (shoulder flanges, groin plate, knee plates)

that is from bioware on the subject of weakness points.
