Obviously they hired someone to do that, so why not hire a singer?

I guess Uncle Bob's friend's brother working out of his basement will cut you a deal, whereas hiring a singer is more expensive.

Mind you, the song was moving, and I'm not complaining, as such. It's just that I found it to be a little out of place, what with no one in Ferelden even having discovered the steam engine yet, let alone electricity.  Or maybe I just haven't gotten that codex entry yet.
