Control does seem like the best choice in the way that no one else, but you get killed. Still, I can't shake the feeling that it will bite us in the ass. The Reapers have been harvesting trillions of people every 50k years for a very long time, they are an abomination against nature. There is only one choice for me and that is to destroy them once and for all -- not just for the current cycle, but for all the species in the prior cycles they have harvested and made into new Reapers.

I'm not sure how the Geth would react if they knew that this choice would destroy them as well, they seemed to be logical and reasonable in the end so maybe they'd even understand it's neccesity and be okay with it. EDI modified her programming to be less self preserving when you used paragon lines with her and she was very determined to end the Reapers once and for all. I'm  pretty sure she would give her life to destroy the Reapers if she said she would ''risk nonfunctionality'' for Joker alone.

After spending all the time telling EDI that she can find her own purpose, it doesn't matter if she's not organic, and accepting the geth as life, getting the quarians to work with them etc.

My shepard would rather turn her back on/re-think what she is ultimately fighting for. etc. rather than the people fighting to save their lives, and the lives of others. Control is the only one where she sacrifices only herself (minus relays)
. My shepard has said to garrus (when he said 10k people must die here, to save 20k there) that that is unacceptable. So she is still sticking to what she believes there

No ending at this state is a good one,but the only one in which you see Shep live is the red with very high EMS,and yes I firmly believe in the indoctrination theory.

What's the difference? The only reason to say Red = Bad is because it also kills the Geth, and that's only a concern if you didn't kill them already.

My perspective on the three endings:

Control Ending (Blue):  This ending felt like a bad choice for Shepard.  To use it would kill Shepard with only time for one command to be issued.  At that, there was no guarentee that the Reapers would not be back at some undefined future date.  The Geth and EDI was going with the Reapers.  What would they be like if they returned?

Destroy Ending (Red):  This one is a reasonable answer as Shepard has orders to destroy the Reapers at all costs.  It even has an off chance for Shepard to live.

I acknowledge this could be the best choice if the Reapers were still trying to indoctrinate Shepard.

There are three down sides to this choice:
--The first downside is the destruction of allied Geth as collateral damage.  Destroying the Geth felt wrong in that they seemed like children rejected by their parents during the Quarian / Geth War.  All the Geth wanted was to be accepted for what they were.
--The second downside is the destruction of EDI as collateral damage.  I have to admit that the final conversation with EDI at the Forward Operating Base in London made this choice even more difficult for me.  I figure EDI was as close to a daughter as Shepard would ever know.
-The third downside was that successive organic generations might repeat the past when they get around to creating the next AI race.

Synthesis Ending (Green):  I consider this the Peacemaker ending.  It appears to be the ultimate compromise, combining Organic and AI parts into a new lifeform based on Shepard.  This new lifeform supposedly would not need to make war between Organic and AI as it had elements of both.  Note, the new lifeform appeared to maintain its former general appearance instead of that of a Reaper.

Downsides include:
--A major lack of trust makes this a difficult choice.  After all, Shepard has to die to make this happen.  Why couldn't they just take a DNA sample?  So much for the highly advanced tech of the Reapers...
--Shepard's experiences with other Reaper ideas of acencion further alienate this plan.

As for the destruction of the Jump Relays destroying their star systems in all three endings, a thought:
It appears that the relays were treated as shape charges exploding in one primary direction to set off the next relay.  Heaven help anything in that direction, but damage is significantly less in all other directions. Image IPB

I agree with the OP

Just what I told Legion

The Geretics had to deal with the consequences of their choices that is one of the things of being able to make choices, the Geth and EDI choose to help me and believe in me, so the consequences for them are destruction? **** that.

After giving it some thought the control ending is the best ending (you only need to have Shepard say an epic one liner of proving the reapers wrong, and commanding them to return to dark space) and showing Harbinger changing eye colour (hinting that Shepard assumed direct control).

That means the galaxy will be forever changed, but the reapers will remain as a possible threat forcing cooperation with all the surviving races.

Also the reapers need to take all the Husk and remake them as reapers making their loses less significant.

That would be a good ending, my Shepard gives everyone more time and proves his will is his strongest point (what I have been doing since day 1), also everyone has to play nice because the Reapers are still out there, because what is more threatening that the reapers?

The Reapers put the mass in mass effect :)
