'Our choice actually mattered in the game, but not in the end' :

Saving Wrex, and EvE,  giving me a better hope that the Krogan will have a better chance of staying peaceful with the other races.

Destroying the Heretics and prevent Tali's exile gives me a significantly better chance at persuading a peace between the geth and quarians.

Saving Thane and Captain Kirrahe and the cereal will not be able to kill the salarian counciller, who will then agree to assist earth.

I first must salute Bioware, our  choice in the previous game did matter significantly in the course of the game, it just a pity that it did not matter in the end.
