Overheard: Cerberus was working on FTL travel that didn't require Mass Relays to travel galaxy.

creating faster than light travel that no longer required Mass Relays? It was one of the last overheard conversations I listened to when in the Citidel.
Also, I didn't think that having all the races would be stranded on earth as long. Although the Mass Relays were destroyed, the smartest and brightest minds of the galaxy are stranded also with the Citedel, a working mass relay stations.
After
playing the game now 4 times through, I am picking up on a lot of clues
that were overlooked at while playing my first time through which tells
me that the end we are seeing is not exactly what we are first led to
believe.
Joker joking with Commander Shephard about not knowing what is real and what is not real after he entered the Geth collective? I
think we were being warned that not everything we were seeing was real
and we are playing through a fractured Commander Shephard.

I do not remember hearing this.

Protheans were FAR more advanced than current races adn they didn't have any real grasp of Mass Relay Tech.

4th wall joke. Wouldn't really put stock into this.

Yeah makes sense. Bioware do that a lot in their games just drop hints like that
But then it suggests that our ending isn't complete, which - by ALL advertisements - said this was the end of Shepard's story.
If I have to pay extra to witness the "true" ending, I was lied to, as the advertising that got me to purchase this game clearly stated that it all comes full-circle in the game (as opposed to in DLC).

Unless it is a free DLC, which I hope it is.

Ah, but if you played the DLC, from Ashes, you will recongize that the Protheans did not agree on uniting the races and work together. Javik makes it very clear that he disagreed with Shephards strategy of uniting the races at first, but then realized that the Protheans error was that they demanded strict adherance to one way of doing things. It is the reason the Protheans failed against the Reapers. Javik later admires that this cycle can do far more than any Prothean society and there are various signs in which this cycle has superceded all those who gone before it.
Rachni, Geth, Top Quarian Scientists, Top Cerberus Scientists, Top Salarian Scientists, Top Alliance Scientists, Top Asari Scientists, and every other race's help is stranded on or surrounding earth.with a working Citadel that did not blow up and every last bit of Prothean knowledge collected in one place. They aren't stranded.

Phase 2 includes the line "Have you discovered a way to run FTL spaceships without an eezo core, Private Talavi?" This is mostly saying "If you don't, we need this eezo mine, then, don't we?" The greater implication is that people are aware of the tenuous nature of the Relay network, a fact that is only worsened now it's general knowledge that the Reapers built the Relays (the ones that the Leviathans didn't, anyway, but as Reaper technology is just Leviathan technology that line is fairly blurred).
But FTL spaceships don't require a mass relay for interstellar travel. The physics of the two methods are the same, but one doesn't require the other.

FTL works without mass relay. Mass relays just allow you to speed up the time it takes to travel long distances.

I know, I know, it's years later. The conversation is between Private Talavi and the Sargent, in D24, the Normandy docks.Phase 1 of the conversation has the Sargent describing a mission to defend an eezo mining facility.Phase 2 includes the line "Have you discovered a way to run FTL spaceships without an eezo core, Private Talavi?" This is mostly saying "If you don't, we need this eezo mine, then, don't we?" The greater implication is that people are aware of the tenuous nature of the Relay network, a fact that is only worsened now it's general knowledge that the Reapers built the Relays (the ones that the Leviathans didn't, anyway, but as Reaper technology is just Leviathan technology that line is fairly blurred).
Listen to this conversation again. It was a figure of speech meaning "have you discovered how to do the impossible?" Nothing to see here, people. Move on.

FTL does not require the use of Mass Relays. However it depends how much faster than light you're travelling. Presumably Mass Relays go many times the speed of light, otherwise jumping between star clusters would still take decades etc.
