IMO (excluding the bad ending) Mass Effect 3 could be the best title of the entire franchise. It has almost everything I hoped for: A great story (excluding the ending), a great combat system, great characters, some more RPG options than ME2 (more weapons & mods, more skills, etc.)
Nevertheless I’m somewhat a bit disappointed, that most of the mini games of the previous titles had been left out. I think mini games add to the overall experience and make the games a bit more varied.
- Why is there not one single mission in the entire game, where you can drive a vehicle (like in “Overlord” of Mass Effect 2)? I don’t want the boring MAKO missions from ME1 where you explore dozens of worlds which all look exactly the same. But one mission like “Overlord” where you fly over a single planet to reach different parts of the level/stations and fight some enemies with your vehicle would have been nice.
- Why is there no computer hacking/decipher at all? I know many people disliked those mini games but I thought they were fun. I mean, I don’t need hacking/decipher at each door/computer console throughout the whole game either. But it would have been nice, if they didn’t remove hacking/decipher completely. I would be satisfied if there where at least a few special terminals throughout the game were hacking or decipher was needed.
- Why is there no gambling in game? Why no usable Quasar-Terminals in Purgatory? Why can’t I invite my squad mates to a little Poker game (why is a poker table on board the Normandy, if I can’t use it?)?
Personally, I hope to see at least a vehicle based mission added as DLC in the future.
Lack of mini games
