Can we get a straight/gay/lesbian option at the beginning of the game?`

There's no way you get ninja'd by Steve unless you're unbelievably idiotic or can't read. Or both.
You have 3 chances to reject him, you have to hit on him 3 times to even get him to flirt with you.
And you have to flat out tell the man you're interested in men, and then interested in him.
I'm sorry but anyone who got "ninja'd" by Steve shouldn't be playing this game. They obviously can't read.
Think Abispa was trying to say that people are mistaking the friendship paths as ninjamances.
Ah okay that makes more sense. I was really confused for a minute.

LOL. So true. I was doing the paragon with him because he was sad and I didn't like that. But the way they handle the "I prefer the Dancers instead of the dude" was pretty great in my opinion and no one as an excuse for trigerring the romance without knowing it.

Yeah, I was mean to Cortez because I was afraid of ninjamancing, then felt bad when I realized it wasn't a trigger after all.Abispa wrote...
@ Ryzaki & KingDan97 -- What is was saying is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to be ninjamanced by Steve, but his friendship dialog reads just like the sort of dialog that started ninjamances in ME1 and DA:O. Can you imaging Liara or Leliana's reaction to the hero telling them "I'll be there for you"?

But he has options. If he wanted to hook up with someone else, he would've broken up with Miranda. That's still possible. But if he doesn't want to break up with her, then what's the point in offering other options? I don't really see where's a problem in having other characters automatically switch to friendship zone if you're already commited to someone else. It makes everything clear and simple.Tirigon wrote...
It really isnt, and if you think it is you should probably not play RPGs because they are all about options.
Because I want a threesome.

It's not that hard. Come on, I know you can do it. There are only two dialogue options after all.

That is not a problem of whether or not a character is gay but a problem of Mass Effect's habit of turning the written line "I care for you" into a long speech about how you want to sleep with them.

I suppose I see your point, although there was always a neutral option for those characters. Bioware bascially decided with ME3 that if there would be only 2 choices that neither would be inherently horrid to say to someone.Abispa wrote...

It isnt, because most homosexuals dont act like Zevran and go all "Hey, look at me, I'm gay, sleep with me, I'm GAAAAY!!!"

I get this. Until I figured out the triggers, I used to always be wary in conversations with any LI because I kept managing to get ninjamanced.

Because they all wear fairy wings right? I know more homosexuals that I had no clue about when I met them than I do flamboyant ones. Heck, one of them I met because he was dating my ex.You massively genrealizing a group of people so that you can be blind to reality doesn't mean it's there.Sykoschematic wrote...

Which characters can't you be mean to? I was nice to my entire squad in the playthrough I did, but if I ever import my renegade characters, I'd like to know who I get force-friended with. I know Anderson and Liara at least are givens (especially with those forced flashbacks).<_<Ryzaki wrote...

Is it? You're very good at recognizing sexual preferences then? How do you do that? Since you're talking about "hundreds of people" it must be visual. Or is it smell?

I don't know who Zevran is but i'm pretty sure that's an accurate representation. Damn, I couldn't have a conversation with Cortez that didn't involve him being gay so I stopped talking to him after the second time I tried.

If you are romancing the VS, and for some reason you decided to sacrifice your lover at Virmire, Liara shows up at your bedroom. If you tell Leliana you like shoes, too, she will throw a temper tantrum if you romance anyone else.

Zevran is the gay (well actually bi) guy in DAO, I thought everyone on this forum would know him, so I chose him as example. I apologize for this wrong assumption.
As for the other point, it is true that Cortez is pretty open about it (that whole "my husband" thing is kind of a giveaway^^), but I would be very surprised if he did hit on you because it totally doesnt fit with how he acts.
