(ignore the title more places to go is always good too)
I need more ways to be different and play the game.

Think about it, every single archetype and specialization is represented already by members of your companion party with the exception of Blood Mage or Reaver. Both of which are specializations, not archetypes.

So you're basically stuck being a "bad guy" if you want to be even marginally "different" in some way from your given companions. Cause everyone else is already covering every given archetype and specialization with the exception of DW Warrior.

Leliana covers Bow Spec Rogue
Morrigan covers Offensive Magic
Wynne covers Defensive Magic
Sten covers 2 handed warrior
Oghren covers 2 handed warrior
Alistair covers sword and board tank
Dog and Shale are variant meatshield types
Zeveran covers DW spec rogue

So largely theres not an archetypal niche for the player to really fill without playing second banana to an NPC or forcing an NPC into uselessness.

And then theres there specializations, which frankly, I feel, flesh out badly, especially under the 20 - 25 level ceiling of the game as it currently stands. And specializations really only add a dash of "flavor" to a character they don't define the character really at all as compared to the archetypal development which is always the bulk of a characters development investment in DA:O

So seeing as the only really "different" thing to do in DA:O is to be a DW Warrior...why not consider an archetypal DLC expansion, or a DLC expansion that focuses on adding more weight and meaning to character specializations?

Cause really on paper with specializations it looks like there are lots of options...but in reality, there aren't because Specializations take a lot of levels to develop just 4 abilities, in fact, by the time you're qualified to get your second specialized ability in most lines, you're only 2 levels away from getting a second specialization point, allowing for a second specialization line....which means that the specializations really don't start fleshing out and differentiating a character til well towards the end of the game and thusly the replayability of the game sort of falls on its face because once you've done the differing origins, the archetypal play, from origin to origin, is really no different.

And its sort of a drag to not have anything special you're bringing to the table as the "hero", it seems, almost, really, given the fact that all your companions already do all the stuff you can potentially do, that your really only along for the ride and to ensure someone is there to make the decisions in the cutscenes.

So yeah, more places to go are great, but, more ways to "be" in the base game would extend its replayability quite a bit.

As I find myself sort of...about to run aground as I've done nearly everything in regards to variant archetypes at this point...and considering more play throughs simply because I like the game is starting to wane in appeal.
