Are you saying hello or you waiting for them to say something?
I admit I have mine on mute sometimes at the beginning, if people are talking I unmute. If its deadly silent then I only talk during the game if I need to say something.

Cool, thing is as I don't play gold, have rubbish weapons & frankly not good enough! Its mostly ok to play silver without mic's. Plus I sometimes tend to say stuff I shouldn't that could offend teammates so its for the best I mute!
However I will now try to communicate in the lobby beforehand even its deadly silent, just hope someone responds otherwise its annoying.

Is it possible some of these mic's are infact kinect? Maybe the kinect is mute in which case its probably for the best which would explain the silence?

GMT-8 (california) and I'm on mostly between 6-10pm on days that I can swing a consistent schedule.

Edit: I mostly play silver, as I'm still getting the hang of classes that are not soldier.

Started playing silver more regularly, because dominating bronze was too easy.

Given that most of my teammates are usually silent, my mic is rarely plugged in, and just lies on the table next to me. If you invite me or see that my mic icon is orange, just yell at me and I'll grab it and plug it in.

EDIT: California (-8 GMT). Usually on nights (after 6pm) and weekends (all over the place).
