So my Sheppard in SP (lvl 38) is a soldier. I also had a soldier in MP that I got to lvl 20. When I reached lvl 20 in MP, the game told me I could promote him to the front lines, boosting my war assets in single player and such. "Cool" I think, so I hit the promote button. It warns me about setting back that said class back to lvl 1, but I thought it wouldn't really matter, since I could only level another one back to lvl 20 sooner or later.
If I had known though....
not only did this reset my MP character to lvl 1, it also reset my SP Sheppard back to lvl 1 !! With no money at all! (lost 105K)
Is this a bug or is it intended? Would be nice if I had a warning that says: You'll also lose EVERYTHING in your single player campaign. Now, I feel like I have to start from scratch and the game really got harder since I'm already pretty advanced in the campaign and my Shep is lvl 1......

Welp, I decided to load an old save and it went back to normal. Needless to say, gotta be careful about those promotions....

This just happened to me in SP mode. Lost about 320k just after the Rannoch mission and my char was reset to Lv1 from 51. Not a clue why this has happened. I don't play MP or use cheats so I'm puzzled.
Luckily I've found a previous save so I'm restarting the Rannoch mission again. Bit nervous now.

Huh. I never experienced this on 360. Sounds like a nasty bug.
