Yeah sure, there are plot holes (what pieces of fiction doesn't have these?), and the endings were pretty vague and did not offer any sort of conclusion to our choices in the way most of us wanted *ahem* "blue babies," but I feel like bitterness over how the triology ended is making people more pessimistic about the future of the galaxy and the universe Bioware created.
After first beating the game some people were concerned with a colony of inbreeding from the Normandy's crew, a starving Garrus and Tali, and a Quarian fleet who will never see their home world again, and the destruction of the Mass Relays. This is acceptable since we have grown attached to these characters' and their problems since the first Mass Effect game. But I can't say that I share the same mentality.
1. I like to think that even with the Mass Relays destroyed, Shepard succeeded in ending the Reaper threat and that's all what matters.
2. Sacrifice. Yeah. There are millions of Quarians trapped within Sol that might never see their home world again, and they'll most likely all die; however, who is to say that the Quarians will cease to exist? This is war isn't it? It would be rather silly to believe that there were no Quarians left behind on Rannoch to repopulate and build houses
3. Life goes on and so does hope. Yes I love Garus, Tali, EDI, Joker, Wrex, and every other character in the stories, but lets just be a tad realistic for a change. These characters are insignificant compared to what was the Reaper threat. If it wasn't for Shepard than everyone would have perished anyway including all the races we love. At least the races we love can still prevail, and even though I know that Bioware seems hesitant to set any game after the events of ME3, this is sci-fi. Who is to say that after 2,000 years galatic space travel can not be a reality again making the way for more stories about the races we love?
And to wrap it up. I'm not saying people don't have any right to be pessimistic and sad about their favorite characters fates. I'm one of those fans hoping that Bioware updates the game with a proper epilogue. I just wanted to remind people that their is hope. Hope that doesn't involve pleading with Bioware to change the endings.
Have a nice day!
