So if 99% hated something but 1% liked it it shouldn't be changed because of that 1%? What about the 99%?

We are the 99%!

We aren't occupy guys. We know what we want.

Agreed. I just couldn't resist

Bioware can do anything they'd like.

As already pointed out DLC endings are something you can choose not to download, so I do not see the problem, except you wanting to impose your views on the rest of us.

No. With the relays gone and an entire armada being stranded in the sol system they'll die out eventually. Escpecially with Earth partly incinerated.

Also there is crap ton of other plot holes and illogical BS that just makes the ending horrible.

This.

And yeah, DLC is optional. It won't hurt the main game, and won't change anything for people who don't want it.

Tyranny of the majority!

On a serious note, what they can or cannot do will depend on them. I am not hopeful that there will be a change. (For the record I do not like the ending.)

Now that it's all said, here is why Bioware CANNOT change the endings:
.
Simply put, it will be a crime with those who actually liked it. Who actually feels their jurney with Commander Shepard came to a meaninful and fulfilling conclusion. They cannot just take it away from those people.

The people who liked them are a minority. The people who disliked them are the loyal fans, the ones who are most invested in the series. They're the ones who stood in line for the midnight release; the ones who have bought the comics, the action figures, and all the other merchandise. Most importantly, they're the ones who will buy future games and DLC and who will recommend the game to friends.

Alienating this group is a terrible idea. Bioware doesn't have to change the ending. They can keep what they've got right now for the people who liked it, but add more for the huge group of people who are dissatisfied with RGB.

I'm actually in support of the OP here. There are actually people who liked the end (I'm NOT one), and they shouldn't suffer.

What they could do is add more choices. Provide investigate/renegade/paragon dialogue to the catalyst, and have the consequences reflect previous actions, or even EMS score.

Alternative endings. A DLC with alternative ending you can activate or deactivate at will. The same way Broken Steel did on FO3. Activate the DLC for new ending, don't download it to keep the actual endings. Next assumption plz ?
And BTW, there is a large majority who disliked the endings, according to various poll and the large amount of topics and people talking about it.

As has been said, if it's DLC, then it's optional. Everybody wins.

The DLC is optional... thats why its DLC. Also, Id say that theres more people who dislike the ending than people who like the ending tbh.... so needs of the many against needs of the few? Also: The ending right now IS bad, you admitted it yourself. Why not tweak it. If you dont like the tweaks, stick to space magic for all I care about, but theres a large group of people who just dislike the current state.

Just put an option to choose the endings you want... surely everyone is happy then?

What about simply adding more options to the current 'RGB' choice, and giving a proper epilogue?
Would that really be so terrible for those who enjoy the current ending? You already have the options you enjoy, and I don't see how adding stuff would diminish that.

Wholesale retconning might be a bit more drastic, and somewhat unlikely as well, but if the alternate ending was available in the form of a DLC, those who like the current ending wouldn't be forced to download it either.

I don't really think what we're asking for is necessarily a zero-sum game.

Bioware can change them. It's not like we are asking them to remove the current endings completely, just add more varied endings to the mix.

No need for that. He's simply expressing an opinion on a public forum.

Um, they can *add* endings. Then sadistic people can still enjoy what they got.

In what manner would having an "ending fix" DLC make someone that liked the original endings suffer???

If you found those endings meaningful and fulfilling then you haven't got much of an existence i'm sorry my friend.

They could just make it an optional DLC, like the Skyrim HD Texture Pack on Steam. Like an ordinary patch, but not mandatory.

Or there could be an option in the menu to select which ending you want to see.
