It would make sense if:
1) Liara didn't have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Shepard.
2) Javik showed some interest in Liara other than mild amusement.
3) Liara showed some interest in Javik other than he's a living Prothean.
4) Javik's attitude significantly improved. (Though it does get better towards the end and with Shepard's help, I doubt Liara finds his arrogance appealing).
5) Javik didn't view this entire cycle as primitives beneath him.

You forgot, if javik isn't a brainless soldier, and regarding 4 javik's attitude improves only in the farewell part, because after thessia he's still a jerk

Unheathly obsission with Sheppard? Because a women knows what she wants is unhealthy? BTW, my Sheppard didn't have any problem with that - it was mutual. Then the vast majority of men are unhealth for doing the exact same thing with the women of their choice, hopefully.

Well Liara seems to like my brainless Solider... well brainless Vanguard (charge,nova,charge,nova, etc.) Shepard. Fair enough, she just lost her homeworld and he was still being like that.
