and your point is? You don't exercise your rights as a consumer because you're afraid of being laughed at?

no im saying the country is going to hell in a handbasket and you people think the ending to a game is more important

what do you think the ftc will say hey sorry the country can wait wile people are losing jobs so we can attend to some 40 year old virgin dressed like spock from star trek who is whining about a 5 minute scene thatll most likely be a FREE dlc in a month?

im anti government but i will say this  ( even though i hate saying it) they have other crap to fix that actually does in fact matter and affect real lives

yea makes alot of sence <_<

The problem with your comment is that according to the FTCs own webpage, the filed complaint is exactly what they are supposed to deal with: Claims of false product specifications.

If you are saying that an institution shouldn't deal with cases it is specifically tasked to deal with, then I don't know what else to say as nothing will make sense in a conversatino with you.

Edit: Heck. Reading their page, one could even argue they should have been brought in already back when EA did their "your mom will hate it" ad spots for dead space2, given that it was targeting a segment that was under the age category of their product and the FTC specifically states they are monitoring that kind of behaviour.

anti trust huh? ok well let me ask you this. dont you think the banks that have lied about the housing market crashing should be put to the side for this mass effect 3 ending fiasco?

afterall people dont trust banks now regarding loans for homes

should someone lose there appointment to some idiot who has nothing in life but just videogames?

i guess the ending to me3 is more important to taking a bank frauder to court right?

oh and you want bioware to be prosicuted for false advertising because  you dont have the comon brain pattern how things work?

quoted from site

The Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, collects complaints about companies, business practices, identity theft, and episodes of violence in the media.

Why: Your complaints can help us detect patterns of wrong-doing, and lead to investigations and prosecutions. The FTC enters all complaints it receives into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database that is used by thousands of civil and criminal law enforcement authorities worldwide. The FTC does not resolve individual consumer complaints.

so they should be legaly prosecuted for a 5 minute cutscene to a videogame?

seriously no wonder the justice sytstem is a joke because people like you make the most mornoic claims to be taken seriously

Why don't you enlighten yourself on the homepage of the FTC about what their responsibilities include? Sounds like there are some areas you are not aware of.

No they wont. The people at the FTC aren’t the same people as the ones that write economic reports.
They are hired to deal with these sorts of things. They are most likely dealing with cases in which the amount of money in question is even small, like drinks not having the same ingredients as mentioned in the drink
catalog, old food being sold, broken CD-disk´s etc.

You might think customer rights are funny, but if they weren’t around the difference would be enormous.

By the law they did falsely advertise their product. I am kind of 50/50 on it anyway. While I agree they lied to us about the endings if they make it right then so be it.

@ Tazmission - You seem to forget that there are many government agencies all tasked to do different things. You also seem to assume (incorrectly at that) that if the FTC did in fact take interest in the case it would somehow (space magic) stop all the other government agencies from doing their jobs and that our government would come to a screeching halt.

Does it hurt?

im just saying bringing the federal government into something so minor imo is sad and pathetic

you do realize if this is taken seriously more idiotic claims will be made right?

heres an example from last year and at the rate you people keep throwing they false advertised this is what will happen

Woman sues to stop Drive getting away with a 'misleading' trailer
Most people's gripe about trailers these days is that they blow too much info about a film's plot. But not Sarah Deming. This Michigan resident is suing the distributor of the critically acclaimed Ryan Gosling thriller Drive– as well as the cinema where she saw it – claiming it was publicised as a Fast and Furious style action piece but turned out to be nothing of the sort.In her suit, which was filed at the sixth judicial circuit court in Oakland, Michigan, Deming says the Nicolas Winding Refn film "bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film ... having very little driving in the motion picture".The plaintiff goes on to attack Drive for what she perceives as antisemitic leanings. The film "substantially contained extreme, gratuitous, dehumanising racism directed at members of the Jewish faith, and thereby promoted criminal violence against members of the Jewish faith", her suit reads.Deming hopes to turn her appeal into a class action suit, which would allow cinemagoers across the US to sue on similar grounds if they found themselves watching films on the basis of a misleading trailer. Both the Emagine cinema in Novi, Michigan, and distributor FilmDistrict are expected to vigorously contest. Emagine has already pointed out that it would have been happy to refund the cost of the ticket bought by Ms Deming, which is the suit's only demand.Drive, about a Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a getaway driver, has been warmly received by most critics. The winner of the best director award at Cannes currently holds a 93% "fresh" rating on the reviews website rottentomatoes.com.

What is considered "idiotic claims" is a political question, since it effects public policy and I dont think we can discuss politics here at the BSN.

You don't have to run for president to be involved in the politics or decision making. And complaining against the opinions of a game on a message board is certainly not a way to start.

How will the trade blockade work? Do they have the right to burn containers with EA games and put IP blocks to their servers? I haven't experienced a Trade blockade before so i don't know what it really involve, but i assume EA will lose enormous amounts of cash and is forced to sell off Bioware or something like that.

I Look forward to this blockade and i´ll see you on the battlefield gentlemen

It will be interesting to see how things turn out. If you're pursuing false advertising, mention that EA/BioWare advertised that the AT12 Raider Shotgun was a Pre-Order exclusive on Origin, but after the game was released, they informed their customers that it was PC only and not available to Counsel gamers who purchased the game through Origin. False Advertising also conducted on this forum by some BioWare employee link below.

http://social.biowar...-8917847-1.html

Also, they False Advertising was conducted on the import your character feature which was broken on launch since you could not import you ME1 physical appearance into ME3 and niether EA nor BioWare or Reviewers mentioned this until after the game was released and paid for even though they were aware of it before hand.

While FTC is fair game since BioWare failed to deliver the promised features in their product, however I believe it should be unnecessary, as with cases like Apple, a large public backlash results in the company giving way to the pressure. There are other cases though, like Netflix, but it was different since price hikes and content removal were a pure money decision. I doubt the senseless ending and rushed story were a money decision for BioWare though, so I doubt that it will be the deciding factor in their decision on how to handle this fallout.

well, considering the example you provided, yea, people get angry about this sort of stuff..  Person A buys product B, is not satisfied duo to percieved false advertisement, A complains about product B

What is the problem, exactly? The way I see it, you just disagree with the current policy regarding which cases the FTC should handle. Which is fine ofc, but why ridicule someone who simply uses his/hers political rights?
