Glad I'm not a US taxpayer, I'd be fuming to find out I'm paying for this waste of time.

That's kinda the point, some Americans are mad and are filing a formal complaint based on false advertisement and misleading statements (official misleading statements made by developers and publisher EA).

And they are exercising their consumer rights.

What practically kills me is that people are hear crying out against such action... that aren't even Americans.
And they tell us to keep our noses out of other countries business.... laughable.

Funny you call it a waste of tax-payer money when that money would have gone to the FTC anyway.

yea we are screwed. i live in chicago and we are gona end up like california by going bankrupt

taxes were at 2% and will go up to 5% next month expecially for income

thats why i say i may think the me3 ending can be better but i have real crap to worry about that dosent involve a 5 minute cutscene to a game with pixels

thats why i feel the so called vocal crowd dosent understand that there is more to life than just a videogame

i mean are they willing to go as far as to say hey ill avoid paying my mortgage just to protest a games ending?

if people do do that im sorry but those people imo are sad and have no grasp on reality

Eh. If they want to waste people's time and money, who am I to stop them?

I will say however, I work in customer complaints, have seen a lot of out-there complaints and this is by far the most ridiculous.

Don't like the ending to 'Lost'? File a complaint.
Don't like that a TV series was pulled off the air before resolving any of the plot twists? File a complaint.

This. Hard. Pansies.

All those idiots are gonna do is make us, the more reasonable people requesting a better ending, look like a bunch of self-entitled dweebs.

cut away the chaff.

but i still say you are going to have to work out what ending you want,as bioware has no idea what to do.

It's not extreme.

Why?

If there actually is a problem, the FTC will act. If there isn't, they won't and they'll ignore it.

To misquote Darth Vader, I find your abundance of faith... disturbing.

I wasn't stating whether or not I think there's a problem worth reporting. I'm saying that if the FTC finds it a problem, they'll do something about it (and their doing something about it would mean that it really was something worth reporting). But if the FTC doesn't find it an issue, then whatever there was no harm in reporting it.

Except the person who filed had no connection to the Retake movement. It was a fan outside of this community (BSN) who filed the complaint. And then reported it to a press agency that he did so.

Tax payer money is wasted on much much worse things.

NASA's annual budget is about $18.7 billion (A little less than .5% of the annual government's overall budget).
Perspective: The US military spends about $20 billion annually. Just to ship fuel. Heck, just to ship only the fuel used in portable air conditioning units. To the middle east. -That- is waste.

A few complains for the FTC to investigate is nothing to be concerned about, as far as wasted money in concerned.

Filing a complaint of this caliber will only reverse the effects that movements such as Retake Mass Effect 3 are attempting to accomplish, any initiative Bioware had may be lost.

Damn good thing they didn't make Tali look like a lizard's a-hole.  Who do you whine to in the government about a disappointing Photoshop job in a game ?

I wonder when the FTC cases against George Lucas begin?

Hey - maybe I can sue McDonald's and actually have them make those fugly hamburgers look like the pictures in their ads!

It's all possible now....

Not really. Whilst it might not be the "non offensive" approach that the Retake movement stands for, it does generate publicity that EA/Bioware will have to address sooner or later. And nobody in their right mind at the PR dept at Bioware would attack the "Retake" movement for supporting kids. It would be a PR nightmare on top of the nightmare they allready have. And even if I do not think the world of Bios PR team, Im pretty sure they do not bang rocks together for fun after work.

The charity has insulated the "Retake" movement much... much more efficiantly than they realize themselves.

I really doubt that ac and food is the jest of 20 billion dollars. The U.S. spend on for the military.
