I don't remember making any choices affecting the story for Battlestar Galactica, I didn't even watch the movie but if I was allowed to make choices I would expect a good detailed ending no matter what outcome.

Of course, IGN's defense of Mass Effect has NOTHING to do with the fact one of their members lent voice talent to the game...

ahh IGN is going to loose a lot MORE rep over this as well. Nope, cant be that they are biased, and have an employee voice over IN THE GAME! Nope...no no they are totally neutral.

really ign? They should shut up n step way from this. what little rep they have, is falling fast.

So, a question has come to my mind.

Let's say BioWare does put out a new ending, free or paid DLC, and say it's everything you could have possibly hoped for. Fixes all the plot holes and gives a satisfying conclusion to the Mass Effect trilogy.

You think all these sites who have been poo-pooing our efforts (IGN, Kotaku, Destructoid et al) will acknowledge that the new ending is a lot better than the original, or will they still cling to their "But the integrity of the artist! The terrible precedent it sets!" baloney?

they'll say what they're paid to

Probably what he's aiming for.

Pay it no mind and move on, no need to get worked up over it.

EDIT: It seems no-one is worked up about this. I'll be going then :P

Like IGN had any repsect or credibility.

Sure, he'll get a lot of hits in that video, which is probably what he's after. Then IGN will lose even more credibility, if it ever had any.

Lapdog for big buisness in the Gaming Industry, or just a complete fool.  His line of thinking in any event worries me for the future of games.

This actually is good for us. This brings more press in, and once they see the GOOD we are doing, then this will swing in our favor.

Thank you IGN for unintentionally strengthening our line.

I'm not visiting any link associated with IGN until this cools down. Whether this reflects their honest opinions or not, they're posting inflammatory content that increases page views and thus their advertising revenue. Why financially reward trollish behavior?

Go to the video, and dislike it. I think Moriarty assumes that there are just a bunch of people with pitch forks complaining they didn't get their way.

The outcry has be mostly civil and constructive - and the fact he glosses over that shows he doesn't know what he is talking about.

Again, I'll always throw this example. The entitlement argument is BS. George Lucas changed Star Wars zillions of times on his will, although there are always critics about it. Bioware doesn't have/can't change ME3's ending on a MASSIVE (effective?) petition?

"I'm too cool to care but I'm going to present a video explaining why my opinion is right in the most insulting way possible."

It sure put me in my place. I better go back to sleep in the cot in my mom's basement.

The argument of entitlement is futile.

It's like having the Beef Council of America commission you for a mural on their building. You paint a perfect pastoral scene with lovely cows supping on rich grass, cute kids chasing butterflies in the background, lazy clouds floating over a blue sky. Then at the bottom of the painting in big red letters you write "Eating Meat is MURDER."

It certainly is art, it certainly is your choice. But it's not what they expected when they gave you money, it isn't what they wanted, and it's insulting to imagine that they would have respected your integrity by adding something so twisty to the end.

Yeah, go to vid, thumbs down, move on.

WOW. LMFAO. If this derp even read Hudson's PR he would see that Bioware even said this was a COLLABORATION between the fans and Bioware.

The "creative integrity for the sake of art" argument is a bogus line put forward by people who wouldn't be able to spot the work of the artists they conjure in support of their point.

The history of art is one of compromise, exchange, revision, interpretation & mistakes.

Even more evidence that gaming journalism is laughable. I love it! The fact that these people get paid to say this **** is HILARIOUS!

Ign had one of their "journalists" cast in the game. If they had an ounce of credibility before, it is gone now.

IGN gets money from EA for advertisement space and such, naturally it's bad for business if they don't side with EA and therefor they attack us.

My advice, just ignore it.

IGN is totally unreliable. Any game with hype around it can get a 7 at lowest. Any game without hype can get a 4 at highest. They're pawns of the gaming industry. Their scores and "opinions" can be bought, as evidenced by the Kane and Lynch Scandal.
