In 1995 the average game was going for 39.99 to 49.00 depending where you bought it. If he paid 100 dollars for a game it must have been some game.

I'll just echo what others said. Jessica Chobot, IGN employee and one of their main cover girls, is in the game. For that reason alone, nothing they say can be considered objective or unbiased.

The fact that games cost $100 back in the day is totally irrelevant to this argument. The fact that the video game industry charges more for its product than any other entertainment industry in existence allows the customer to hold them to a higher standard and to demand a better product. I recently bought The Social Network, 2010 Best Picture winner and a well respected picture in the world of cinema, for $20. A steal? No, I bought it at Target for the suppliers suggested price. The movie cost far more (an estimated $50,000,000) to create than Mass Effect 3, yet BioWare has the nerve to charge $40 more and to tack on $10 in already completed content. Games should not cost nearly as much as they do to begin with and if the gaming industry wants to continue charging so much for their product then they can certainly not afford to be so thin-skinned.

If anything I thank him for finally giving me to motivation to do to IGN what I did with Kotaku a long time ago:

Find their page in my bookmark folder, click "delete" and never look back.

Yea one person gone wont affect them, but I don't need to be trolled by them for page hits while they continue to give video game journalism a terrible reputation.

I will be uninstalling their application from my phone.  Been meaning to for a long while.  That whole "Why Dark Souls is better than Skyrim" didn't sit well with me.

IGNorant. Oh wait I mean IGN. It has been a long time since I trusted IGN for game reviews as it is VERY clear that IGN is one of those companies where a good game score CAN be BOUGHT. Ignore him and hold the line, its not that we want to CHANGE the ending, we want MORE OPTIONS that don't have to deal with the starchild. Starchild can stay in there...just as one of the BAD endings.

So, a question has come to my mind.

Let's say BioWare does put out a new ending, free or paid DLC, and say it's everything you could have possibly hoped for. Fixes all the plot holes and gives a satisfying conclusion to the Mass Effect trilogy.

You think all these sites who have been poo-pooing our efforts (IGN, Kotaku, Destructoid et al) will acknowledge that the new ending is a lot better than the original, or will they still cling to their "But the integrity of the artist! The terrible precedent it sets!" baloney?

I've been thinking the exact same thing. I've got a good feeling we are going to get a much better ending as DLC, if only because the potential market for this has shown itself to be far bigger than anyone could have thought, let alone if it was EA/Bioware's plan all along. I can't wait to see what all these critics will have to say then.

That guy in the video is a prat. I never knew what people meant when they implied "hipster" as a negative description - now I completely understand.

Not to defend IGN or anything that was a users bolg. The IGN staff didn't write it.

edit* My mistake. It was their editor in chief. For some reason when I first read it it looked like the blog layout.

I like how he also used it to try and get twitter followers.

The amount of sites i trust has been less than 5 for a long time now. Any ''official'' site/mag and Ign, Kotaku and Gamespot are no no's for me.

Phantasy Star 4? Lol that game was not even worth it. Phantasy Star 1 yes but hell no to number 4. I say let him talk he has nothing else to do but break down/ad hominem attack people. I will agree to disagree wtih him that's it. IGN is so obsolete now.

Who cares? Is he a fan? Does he speak for fans? Is he on BSN or somewhere else? is he going to sway anyone that was really going to buy the game anyway? Is he just talking to his own 13yr old Gears fans?

Stop posting links getting him views and hits please.

I think some of his points are spot on. Others are not. There are indeed some brats on here and some people who's common sense has left the building. Those people give humanity a bad name.

Ahaha :') Oh this guy can't be serious. This video can't be done to be taken seriously, I mean look at him, he must be acting like a complete twit on purpose.

And the points he makes? Boycotting DLC is the right way to go with arguments? Yet verbally asking for a change/fix "Oh man that is TOO FAR!" :P

IGN must be filled with simple people to entertain, nothing more.
