Anyone know what the procedure is for backing up the digital version of  ME3?  It can't be just a simple matter of archiving the "Mass Effect 3" folder, or can it?

I'm not worried about backing up saved games or characters. I've deleted them anyway.

It's easy to do with Steam...

Cheers.

Enable cloud saves in Origin? It's what I do.

Origin's cloud would only backup my "savegames". Since I don't have a physical version of the game, I want to create a backup of the whole 10GB's (saves me having to download the whole thing again in the future).

I was able to do this with my digital copy of ME2 on Steam, so I'm kinda expecting it to be possible under Origin aswell. How tho'?

Cheers.

From what I know it's not possible.
Some time ago there was option to keep installation files after downloading.
But now even after checking option that should keep downloaded files Origins still remove them :bandit:

Just c&p the setup files where you want them and if you want to seprate them just use a file arhciver like 7-Zip or WinRAR.

Thanks to the nfo, mad825. That's what I was hoping for. Off to archive the game now.

Sorry to bring up this topic but I would like to know if the archiving mentioned above saves the multiplayer data, as well? Characters, weapons, equipments, levels and ratings? Or is there another way to backup those?

Multiplayer data is stored on the EA servers only.

Okay, thank you for answering. I was afraid that if I give my computer a a total overhaul, I might lose my mp data.

The above mentioned way just saves the installer, Chardonney. If you want to keep your multiplayer data you'll have to save your Mass Effect 3-folder.
If you have Windows 7 it is located at your User folder in "My Documents/BioWare/".

Still don't get it why they have chosen to save the multiplayer data locally. Well, maybe it'll be easier this way to "community-patch" the game once EA decides to shut down the servers. Worked well for games like Empire Earth...

Ah, thanks. I already saved the whole BioWare folder into my external drive, so everything should be ok then. Thank you.
