Originally it was because Yvonne Strahovsky is amazing, but Miranda turned out to be a really fun character when the dialog was about more than her ass.
Every scene with her ended up making me smile, and the romantic conversations made me grin with their cheesy banter.
And then in ME3, I felt pretty driven to protect her.
More so than earth.

totally agree with you on that on it was much more heart felt than virtually all of the romances I have seen considering it felt like they are actually in a relationship unlike some other characters.

Liara because she seemed to care the most.

Liara seemed the most innocent and caring in the first game, like the "girl on the adjacent planet", if you follow my space metaphor.

Then she got all badass as the Shadow broker, but never lost her caring.  Naughty and nice.

Besides, when she's in the next room, it's hard not to get a hankering for some blueberry.

In ME2 I went with Tali though, cuz she was always shy and flustered a lot.

Yes, these are all the types of women I go for in real life... I'm a sucker for adorable.

Jack because she's bad ass and soft at the same time lol.

It's a shame how she got treated by writer in ME3. I felt like there is tons of potential on her story.

I tried most of them out, all in ME1 + ME2 and all I got so far in ME3 (I replay the series and just dont play the ending because nothing relevant happens there anyways and I dont want to be reminded of it... also, I feel bad killing Marauder Shiedls) are Liara, Ash, Garrus and interestingly enough Traynor. The Traynor playthrough was originally supposed to be Kaidens but I killed him because he got on my nerves.... oO

Ultimately, my favorite LI was Garrus. At first I picked Kaidan, since Garrus wasn't an option, but believe me, I was trying to get every Garrus cut-scene I could, haha -- that VOICE. So naturally, I was over the moon when I could romance him in 2, and that was all fine and dandy, except the slight disappointment that we didn't even get a KISS in ME2, but Garrus's romance in ME3 completely made up for that and beyond -- the Garrus romance in ME3 goes above and beyond all the other romances throughout the entire series, and it was definitely the most satisfying, meaningful, adorable, witty, etc, etc. Whoever wrote Garrus's romance dialogue should get a major pat on the back. It was literally the best part of the ENTIRE franchise, for me. I just hope that they'll provide closure with your LIs in the upcoming DLC. That's all I really care about.

Tali was the one that brought me the game in the first place. At first, it was just the voice, but I grew to like her character with each conversation. She's got a real character developement, and her LI arc just seems the most romantic to me.
Always by Shepard's side, secretly in love with him since ME1, she trust him above all, sweet and adorable. Can't ask for more.

Liara: Joining Shepards consciousness in ME1 seemed to be something special for me. And she showed strong interest in Shep afterwards.
Secondly because Liara was the only person that cared about Shepard´s dead body after the collectors destroyed the first normandy. I guess she always likes Shepard.

Okay this is random kind of but awwww you just made me think of Tali adopting a baby quarian since she can't have shepards kids. Cuddling the tiny thing quietly saying a lullaby in her language. I needed that "aww" thank you

There are going to be plenty of orphans after this war. Adoption is the best way. And if you check my signature; this is something that was explored in one of the old Tali threads after ME2 was released. It is told as a series of mini-fanfics.

Speaking of fan made things. I found a fan-made ME3 ending for Tali, for Liara and for the Reapers.

Good god man, that hurt, like wow... I'm actually bummed. I know that line was "originally" about her Father, but in that context Tali's pain is ****ing unbearable.   Brogarrus ftw though.

I stuck with Jack, she swears and hates things which generally fits my lifestyle, although I do have a soft spot for Liara.

I've wanted to Romance with Tali in the first game, but since she wasn't an option I chose to Friendzone Liara and go with Ashley.
Then I found out that Tali is Romancable in ME2, first chance you get to be in a Relationship with her I took it.

The Reason why I like Tali is probably because of just how vurnable she suddenly becomes when around Shepard. I don't know why, Probably just her overall personality also gets me too. It also helped that Romancing Her gave the Possibility to see her face. (even though it was a Stock Photo, We now actually have some sort of understanding of what Quarian's Look Like underneath the mask.)

Garrus for my main femshep. I waited patiently through part one so I could be with him in 2. Still waiting to finish it up once they fix the face import bug.

Liara for my second femshep I'm starting soon. I never though much of her playing the original but LotSB totally got me. They always give her the best close ups where you can see her every emotion. She is just adorable. Plus I will enjoy carrying the relationship though all the games.

When I started playing ME for the first time, I looked up some spoilers regarding romance. I was kinda relieved that my fem shep could have a female LI. Or else she would have been without any at all.

But when I met Liara for the first time, helpless, trapped in that field on Therum, I fell in love. She must be the prettiest alien I've ever seen. After this moment, it wasn't about saving the galaxy. It was about getting married, having little blue babies and watching them grow up.

Just something to talk about. What made you pick the Love Interest that you picked? Even the "they were hot" type of answers are fine.

I only watched the complete Garrus romance play out. But I've seen bits and pieces of other romances too. Garrus was the reason I got the game in the first place. I like to draw Aliens and Predators so when I saw Garrus I became curious. Found out it was the same business that made Dragon Age so it couldn't be awful.

But I won't ramble on how Garrus is great. We all kind of know it. Wish he said I love you too to shepard though. The kiss helped at least.

However I will send a shout out to the Talimancers. Yes I like her too. I'm the typical geek girl and I thought the idea of a shy geeky girl getting a jock like shepard was cute. Her body language is fun to watch too when she fiddles around with her hands. I'm sorry her face reveal ended so badly though :(

Kaidan all the way - he is cute, has a good personality - went through hell and back in his life and didn't let it effect him. He is a fighter just like my Shepard is.

This.  My bf's shep romanced tali and it was great.  I love how shepard is the daring space captain that swoops her off her feet like a fairytale.  Saying goodbye to her at the end was just heartbreaking.  "I want more time".

I could only ever be with Tali... From the first time I met her in Mass Effect one with her speech about how she couldn't pass up a mission as important as mine... It took forever for me to figure out she was more or less unobtainium in the first game but I tried everything. That's the kinda girl that even in real life, even if it meant no sex and I'd never be able to feel her touch because she could die. Just having her near would be enough. Then in ME2 meeting her on Freedoms Progress, I wanted her more than ever, not to mention she had filled out that suit ever so nicely. I went through every possible bit of dialogue, I just couldn't even get enough of her voice. Her body language told me every thing I needed to know. She is mine and we are gonna make this work. Then in ME 3 when I first saw how beautiful Rannock was I knew that I wanted the end to be me, her and the house I'll build there on that cliff side.

Did I mention that there is nothing sexier than a chick that not only does her own mechanic work but also knows her way around a shotgun?

She really sets the bar for any dating material I've come across in real life... I still haven't met a single girl that measures up even half way.

Kaidan for my FemShep, always. For me it's the chemistry, and when you stay loyal from ME1 there's just so much history between them. Plus, he's got some great scenes, and the writing and VA really bring him to life.

Tali is the only person any my Shepard ever had a relationship with. I always figured my Shepard was more of the reluctant hero, who stepped up when it was needed. He doesn't see himself as anyone special. The fact he is almost legendary in the Alliance actually makes him feel out of place and frustrated, they only see the N7.  He only felt like he was doing his duty and he was making it up as he went along the best he could. So why is he suddenly a hero and a leader?

In ME1, A little quarian at odds with the universe bumps into Shepard in a back alley on the Citadel. Where people look up to Shepard, people look down on Tali. Nobody ever sees them as anything except their reputations or stereotypes. Both find respite from their respective isolation in each other and always treated each other as equals. In ME2, She is strong in front of others but lets her guard down for Shepard as he does for her. They break eachother's isolation and find something they both craved, someone who sees the being beneath the armor.
In ME3, everything Shepard did was motivated more by Tali then  by Earth. He found something to fight for beyond simple duty. She found someone who would move heaven and earth to bring her a future free of fear or want of home. Someone who always saw her and not just the suit.

They are going to build that house.

Maybe that's what hurts the most... With this abysmal end that they cooked up, they didn't just kill Shepard, they killed us.
