Tali.

Back in Mass Effect 1, she and Wrex were the most interesting character to me because she's the most alien, both in appearance and culture. Garrus was always a bro, but he was always a pretty standard cowboy cop. Tali had a lot of interesting stuff going on with her Pilgrimage, the geth and the Migrant Fleet. It was interesting stuff.

I picked Tali because that irresistible cute-girl-next-door-right.under-your-nose quality and the way she finally blurts out her feelings for Shepard that just made me go "daaaw!"

Tali was the only LI that I found to be interesting and attractive all at the same time.

I wish there were better hetero options for FemShep. I like Kaidan and everything, but all I could think of was Carth Onasi but I didn't care for Jacob. I boinked Thane and I gotta say...

*mumbles*if Kai Leng replaced Thane in ME2, it would've been Kai all the way >.>

Miranda.

At first I spotted her as cheat-bait, (a contrivance to get you to cheat on your absent partner) having romanced Ash in the first game. At first Miranda is obnoxious and cocky, but you grow to respect her abilities and then you start to see through the cracks and empathize with the character. As she began to change, I really started liking where a decent writer could take a character like Miranda. But alas, it didn't pan out in the 3rd game and I got barely anything.

Initially I was torn... but then came Horizon. I'm sorry Ash - you blew it. I loved the conversation with Ash in the hospital (if you romanced them both) where Shep can just tell her off for that utter display of self-centeredness. Miranda's confidence and competence was just too hard to pass up.

Also, Yvonne's voice vs Ashley's. Good grief.

While I didn't romance her. I did feel really bad for her in Lair of the Shadow Broker. In one of the files explaining she can't have children. That's sad for any woman to go through. Even if one says they don't want kids. Having just the option taken away is sad. I still feel she's a bit "mary sue" in 2. At least she seemed better in 3 for what we saw of her. I didn't see it yet but I read she gets upset if you break up with her.

I ended up with Tali as Liara apparently became non-interested after I flirted with her In ME3

Like so many others, It started with Liara in ME1 (Ash was like: In your DREAMS! I am out)
Then She was too preoccupied in ME2 and did not come across as interested in continuing the relationshp. And Tali made a pass at me. I liked Tali a lot so I ended up with her. Then I played LOTSB right after the returning from the SM. Rekindled the relation with Liara, Tali did not seem to have any objections and neither did Liara. Then I blew up a batarian relay and got placed under investigation on Earth. You probably know the rest.

Tali, because the way she gets nervous when talking to Shepard is adorable.

I played ME2 before ME1,
I've done like 12 playtthroughs, made different story decisions, but always picked Tali.

I dunno just something about the personality I liked, reminded me of things I guess.
Plus the "romance" scenes seemed more genuine, mushy if you will. And there wasn't any of those sex scene crap. it was implied but never shown,

Plus I think I may have a thing for the suits and helmets, which is weird because she's pretty good looking underneath *even if it's a lolstockimage*.

Also, I'm partly colorblind to shades of purple so it can be pretty hilarious sometimes.

not with that attitude of his (Kai Leng)~! I REALLY like his VA but um...the costume? that's like Nightwing and something else I can't remember. I dunno, he's cute and all but um....no.<_<

but yeah, Jacob was just...boring. Thank god I didn't go for him, not with the way he cheated.

Tali. I think someone on deviantArt wrote an entire essay as to why one might want to choose her.

Miranda cant have babies?  Not sure how I missed that.

Makes me feel better about boning Ash though.  I can pretend she got knocked up and has a baby shep coming.  Cant do that to a chick that can't have babies.  It also beats not having babies with Tali or having to bother talking to crappy Liara.

Ashley, she was a much better choice than stalker with plot armor.

It's in the shadow broker files in the second game
Miranda is infertile. She even mentions it to Oriana in ME3, If/When she dies. "I want you to have things i could never have, children etc"

I liked the dynamic between Shep and Garrus: friends that evolve into something more. Garrus always has Shep's back. Plus, they're both strong leaders, but they have different opinions, and they really balance each other out. I like to think they need each other in that respect--when one gets too crazy, the other pulls them back out of the fire.

Plus, he's fun and he likes to break the rules. More great balance for my uptight Paragon Shep.

Kaidan. Because he was hot, had a sexy voice, and just the right amount of man pain.

Honestly?

I was quite immature back then when I first time played Mass Effect. So I made female Shepard and had her romance Liara for sake of hot lesbian sex that everyone was raging about.

Turns out Liara was a good character too, as well as everyone else. I was kinda sad that back then you couldn't romance Tali. Good thing ME2 came later :D

I would but I don't know how. Also I was more curious as to why they were picked. Not just a popularity contest.

My Shep fell in love with Liara back in the first one, romanced her again in Lair of the Shadow Broker and again in ME3. She's always been about Liara and little blue babies. Liara is sweet and I love the development of her character over the series, plus she does that thing with her eyes.

MShep: Ashley, though I made a second after ME2 for the Talimance, which I think has a lot more meat to it in the overall series. Of course, it doesn't really compare to the epic bromance with Garrus in all 3 games. You can go to hell and back with him, and always know he has your back.

FShep: Liara for all 3 games. I guess since I play paragon femsheps it seems to fit better to me at least. And again you have to bromance Garrus, its hard not to.

However the best romance is Garrus/Tali ftw!

I liked Miranda aesthetically at first and then I got into her story and that is when I really was interested in her character. Plus, Yvonne Strahovski is amazing!

I have two FemSheps. I think I'm just a sucker for the "good boy" and chose Kaidan. Liara...always came off like she had the potential to burn down the Normandy if she and Shep got into a fight. One FemShep stayed loyal to Kaidan (and I love him way more now in ME3) The other Shep went for Thane. It's Thane! I had to!
