Haha, I loved those dialogues. Liara is so cute when she gets flustered.

I picked Liara because I have always been interested in exotic women.  I guess you could make an argument that Tali is a little more exotic than Liara because Asari do for the most part look human, but I could never get around the idea of every time my Shepherd was intimate wth Tali that she would be sick for a few days.

If you romance Tali in ME3; you find out her body is adapting to being exposed to Shepard.

I went with Liara. I prefer the quiet, intellectual type. Ashley was just so much of a tomboy. Since Liara's story feels the most fleshed out, she's usually how my romances go.

I chose Liara in ME1 because Ash was just not someone I wanted to be around (all the anti alien dogma and such). I loved Tali in ME1, I thought that she was by far the best of all the companions. For my 'canon' playthrough I had a Liara loyal shep and I think it played well. She was always there for you (Unlike the VS).

I really was sad to see how they cheapened the Quarian face reveal, so glad I did not play my Tali Romance in ME3.

I like Miranda's personality. The voice actress behind her really did a great job in bringing her to life

Sidney and Jane, my first two FemSheps, are with Liara, because I have a weakness for Geeky librarian types. The fact that she can bullseye a geth with a pistol at 40 meters is just bonus. Sidney had a fling with Kelly because Liara basically dumped Shepard in ME. By the time I created Jane, LotSB was out, and Jane never even looked at Kelly.

Sarah, my third FemShep, did the Kaidan thing, more because I wanted to see how the romance played out than anything. I wanted to see if Kaidan *ever* got less spineless. Sadly, he did finally grow a backbone in ME2, but he also felt the need to shove his head so far up his butt he can see his own teeth, so, Sarah moved on to Garrus.

My BroShep, John, I RP'd as kind of a pro-human dick. He let the council die. Banged Ashley, then Miranda. I didn't let him near Tali, because honestly, he's the biggest dick of a Paragon Shep *ever*, and I couldn't do that to her.

My femshep went with Garrus because he's loyal, funny, awesome and adorkable all at once. He always has her back in a fight and can easily cheer her up with his wonderful snark. His occasional shyness/awkwardness is hilarious and endearing.
I also have a thing for that flanging effect in his voice. Stupid sexy turians :pinched:

But if Tali was a femshep option he would have had some competition.

There is no contest, for me. On my alternate play-throughs, I have to force myself to pick someone other than Liara or I would end up with her every time. Tali may be nerdy, but Liara is more intellectual. She cares about Shepard above and beyond what anyone else demonstrates. Other people mourned Shepard's death, but Liara took on Cerberus and the Shadow Broker just to try to recover his corpse. Yes, Liara seems a little distant in ME2, but it's understandable when you learn about the stuff she has had to go through while you were dead. Tali's awkwardness is cute, but her affection for Shepard is presented like hero worhip in ME2. As an asari, Liara has the ability to understand Shepard like no one else possibly can, because she can join their minds together and share each others' thoughts (something they reserve for only the closest of friends and their bond-mates). The gifts she gives Shepard in ME3 show more thoughtfulness and depth than the other characters, too. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she is attractive. She also has the most beautiful love scenes in the entire series, artistically speaking. Plus, I imagine the two of them could find some interesting uses for their biotic abilities in the bedroom...

Miranda.

At first I spotted her as cheat-bait, (a contrivance to get you to cheat on your absent partner) having romanced Ash in the first game. At first Miranda is obnoxious and cocky, but you grow to respect her abilities and then you start to see through the cracks and empathize with the character. As she began to change, I really started liking where a decent writer could take a character like Miranda. But alas, it didn't pan out in the 3rd game and I got barely anything.

Initially I was torn... but then came Horizon. I'm sorry Ash - you blew it. I loved the conversation with Ash in the hospital (if you romanced them both) where Shep can just tell her off for that utter display of self-centeredness. Miranda's confidence and competence was just too hard to pass up.

Also, Yvonne's voice vs Ashley's. Good grief.

I nearly did a backflip when I saw that conversation. Shepard actually telling off Ashley for being an idiot was not what I expected. Frankly, I figured the "cheating" would be disregarded as a minor thing or unnecessary melodrama. While it was minor in the technical sense, they handled it legitimately well. That is precisely what my Shepard would say.

Right now I am working on my Femshep who will romance Kaidan. I have yet to decide on if my dudeshep will choose Miranda or Ashley as I rather like both. Unfortunately, they did so little with Miranda in terms of where her story could go.

Throw a poll in here.

I would but I don't know how. Also I was more curious as to why they were picked. Not just a popularity contest.

The poll just serves to show how big each camp is.
I'm sure most people will also put their two cents in comment form as well

Honestly, I felt like the LI in my cannon play through chose Shepard, not the other way. I explained it fully in the Liara thread, but my FemShep was with Kaidan in ME1, stayed true in ME2, but kinda fell for Liara during LotSB. I tried to pick things up with Kaidan in 3, but I honestly felt like something was off. So I went with Liara because she had always been there for Shepard and I wanted my Commander to go into the final battle with someone that truly believed in her and had the whole time.

I went with Liara. Asari have more fun. lol

I liked her character development from ME1-ME3. She was always at your side. Liara was so cute during your sarcastic conversations. I stayed true to her and it was well worth it. Loves ya Liara!

I fell for Liaras clumsy and socially awkward ways.
I was glad to see that her role turned out to be the biggest LI-role in all three games.

She's always around in some manner, plus dlc revolving around her.
Her personality change in ME2 had me worried a bit, but the ending of Shadow Broker solved that very nicely.

All my Sheps that romanced Liara stayed faithful.
Kaidan and Ashley both got cheated on.

Back off tough guy! loljk, but seriously, that was my favorite trait of hers, that and the voice; very calm and soothing. And when Shepard joked about her wanting to dissect her ( Shepard ) and she got all awkward and embarrassed, I couldn't help but to smile and found it amazingly cute. And that she's ashamed by being a pure blood. I just find everything about her attractive. Embrace Eternity!

However I will send a shout out to the Talimancers. Yes I like her too. I'm the typical geek girl and I thought the idea of a shy geeky girl getting a jock like shepard was cute. Her body language is fun to watch too when she fiddles around with her hands. I'm sorry her face reveal ended so badly though :(

Tali has always been LI and this is pretty much why. She is adorable. She also appeals to both the fanboy in me and my real world tastes. So no reason other than my 'main' shep tries to mimic my own personality.

I can totally understand romancing ashley too, she comes off as somewhat troubled despite her Marine-girl exterior I like to think her and shep would make a good couple being able to share their experiences when there is nobody else who has really seen anything like they have.

Liara I like as a character but right off the bat she was made into a sex object, it was all too convinient. http://cfgfactory.co...itch-please.png <- This was my reation when the bi-sexual 'hot' blue alien chick fell into sheps arms all "oh please save me" like. XD

Her social Naivete, and plus she looked so cute inside that bubble....and the voice. ME2 solidified it as the proper choice.

I liked him straight away in ME1 - I thought he seemed sweet and kind but also with great integrity and strength. My Shep stayed loyal in ME2 so that was kind of lonely, but it was all worth it for the payoff in ME3. The Kaidan romance there was wonderful. He was a great anchor for my Shep in the midst of the raging war; a source of strength, happiness and peace, and she was the same to him.

I really hope he doesn't have to lose her again. :crying:

My LI in my original game is Liara. Initially I romanced her for little other reason than I liked the character and thought she was interesting. I'm not usually bothered with love interests in games (mainly because they're usually so shallow), but it was quite nicely done. I came to Mass Effect a little late and had heard of the controversy around it, so that curiosity probably affected my decision somewhat.

I was won over completely by her in ME2. Finding out about the lengths she went to in order to get Shepard back made it strikingly obvious how much she cared.

By the time I got through the Shadow Broker DLC, it was nigh on impossible for me to romance anybody else. I think the relationship is pitch perfect during it. From the fun, old-married-couple banter to the intense emotional moments, it does a fantastic job of showing the bond between the two characters. Strangely enough, the part I found most endearing is Liara's apartment, just walking through and seeing all these mementos of your time together.

I continued the romance in my only playthrough of ME3 and it was really well handled. They seemed like a couple for the entire duration and by the time they drop the 'L' bomb, it feels earned.

Tali because I liked her in ME1 but couldn't pick her, she had a lot of character. Liara just seemed....So bland at the time and monotone. And Ashley? Sorry...I don't deal with xenophobic and (Racist?) humans. Maybe I should have let her die...but I figured that she would redeem herself...nope she is the same as ever.

Liara is nice and good-natured, Garrus is exactly like a renegade Shepard, and Tali is sort of a cute geek.

But the most important reason I choose Liara, Garrus, and Tali is because they're easily the most loyal to Shepard.

Anyone else is just a fling.
