I stayed true-blue (Puns) to Liara throughout the series.

Ash and Kaidan were just too vanilla in the first one, I mean you're in space. Hasn't it been mans dream to make it with sexy blue babes since first he looked up to the stars?

In the second one, I loved how her character progressed. She really seemed to have grown up, she was a little colder, less awkard, and a bit more rational. All in all I thought it was good character development, that I really didn't see with anyone else.

In the third, well I picked her just because. I wasn't terribly interested in the other LI's. Jack would've been nice if she had a few more scenes, or at least interactions with Shep - I liked the way she mellowed out, but the lack of interaction really killed any kind of interest.

When I play Femshep, it's Garrus all the way. I mean, there's really no contest.

Ashley was flawed, and that made her so very human to me. A woman who can shoot a rifle AND recites Tennyson? Oh man. I've ALWAYS been a sucker for good-looking tomboys, and ironically when ME1 first came out I started dating a marine girl the same week I discovered the character. It was a fun parallel. Anyway, I ended up liking Ash better than that actual girlfriend haha!

Garrus for the win.
Both him and Shepard are vulnerable people who need to keep a brave face on. Shepard can't just tell a friend what she's going through because it's just difficult for others to understand her burden. Same case for Garrus in ME2, having been betrayed by that one dude and having to carry the burden of his teammates' deaths. They can rely on each other to share their baggage. They have been through enough together to know what the other one is going through. Their relationship progress is the most organic in my opinion.

Tali... I mean, it's Tali! She's adorable and a true example of personality trumping looks. Plus, for some reason, I've always had a thing for semi-vulnerability, thought she's still more than capable of kicking ass.

I was with Liara in the first game, I found her to be very affectionate and open, but I was also interested in Tali, who I was with in Mass Effect 2.

At the time I thought "God, it's gonna be hell making this choice", but then Tali... Well, died...

On the bright side of things, it wasn't much of an issue in 3.

In the end, I think I would have, flipped a coin and regretted it, loaded up a save, chosen the opposite, and regretted that too. So yeah, I'm forever caught between Liara and Tali

I dumped Liara for Samantha in my first (and only) playthrough.
There was just something about that accent that was appealing, and that spoiled brat being a yeoman on my ship.
Sexy.

ME1 I went with Ashley but her racist attitude, ackward poetry moments and bible thumping were easy to over look cause I thought she was hotter than Liara and I liked her straight talking.

ME2 comes around and I meet the girl of my dreams, perfect Miranda Lawson (yes, dat ass!). Biitch attitude exterior with an actual caring woman underneath turns this renegade on. :D Plus I was pissed at Ashley yelling at me, not listening, and being an ACTUAL biitch.  I tried paragon choices until I just said I'm done. With Ashley's attitude, seems like she should have been working for Cerberus.

ME3 stayed with Miranda and was once again sick of Ashley's biitching. Ahh Miranda, always calm and collected. I wasn't worried that she couldn't have kids anyway, didn't care. Of course space magic took away that option of adoption. :D

Oh and one note, I would have been gay for Garrus. Ours was a true Bromance. ;)

Tali: the voice, the mystery of what she really looks like, her demeanour, that shes willing to risk death by taking her enviro-suit off for you only adds another reason why she is so awesome.

I picked Liara in ME1, because I was soldier and I was using her on my team, so I thought that it would be fair if I would have romance with her ;) Well, during it I reaaly fell in love with her, so I stood faithful in ME2, with knowledge that ME3 is near. When I played Lair of the Shadow Broker I saw that was a good choice and after ME3 I was like "Best... LI... EVAAR!"

I actually posted this a couple hours ago in the Liara thread of the character and romance discussion forum:
"In the first game it seemed like the most natural pairing and just so "right". The young, slightly awkward and formal Asari scientist who falls in love with with the heroic human Spectre who saves her. Maybe a little cliche but I don't care."

That said I'm not gay but I can see where all the Garrus loving people are coming from. The guy is awesome.
"I'm Garrus Vakarian and THIS is now my favourite spot on the Citadel!"

Well, my main Shepard was going to go for Ashley, but that never happened, so she remains single. I tried all the other romances with different Shepards, and through experience, I like some more than others. The more I like the character, the more interest I have in their romance though.

Jack because she's the badass with a hearth of gold (almost). 3rd game proves my point. Other LI's stay the same way anyway, Ashley: generic army girl, Tali : shy, clumsy, geeky bleh, etc.. You can change Jack and she deserved that 2nd chance.

Picked Tali because she feels so real. Vulnerable but strong, meek but determined, shy but bold. I could feel her pain through her voice and must say, her captivating accent.

Through the games she learns with you that perhaps things are not as she believed. There is a very noticeable evolution in her character and her way to think and see things as she travels with you to every corner of the Galaxy. In the last part of the story she tells you how she just wishes to have a house in her homeworld.

How can you deny such a beautiful creature like Tali a demand so simple and so pure? With Tali it's all about sentiment and emotion.

^ This for me. My Shep never felt like she could really open up to anyone else on the team about her own pain, because she was more or less their adoptive mom :P Garrus to me was the only other natural "leader" of the group, so of course he'd know what it's like to have to keep a brave face on.

Plus, I'm sick of broken puppies as the male LI in games. Garrus is a total bad*** and can take care of himself :)

Diana Allers, since I wholeheartedly hold an interest in females with a true sense of depth and personality.

Oh wait...

Liara, I was curious where it would go considering all of the events of ME2, including shadow broker. Tali's nice and all, but not quite to my taste.

My LIs are as follows:

Saturnine Shep: Ashley in ME1, she breaks up with him in ME2 - so he Paragons Jack, not sure which I'm choosing in ME3 as I haven't finished it with him yet.

Anise Shep: Kaiden - all 3

Emil Shep: Liara - all 3

Aethra Shep: I can't decide, as I was hoping Vega was romancable... but noone in ME1

Planning on one for garrus and tali.

I had a soft spot for Garrus in ME1, which was a bit odd because I've never been a big fan of aliens.

When I found out I could romance him in ME2, I jumped at the chance. It just seemed right. He's been there since the beginning, he's a perfect gentleman, but still a total badass, and the entire romance was just plain sweet (no skin for the sake of skin).

Because I really liked Tali in Mass Effect and was completely shocked when the romance option became available in ME2...

That and the fact that she is adorable.

Yeah, I love women with horrible voices and akward facial rendering in my games too. lol.

What a pity, cause all her IGN stuff she sounds and looks much better.

Garrus. Just Garrus. Because I was playing a straight FemShep and the fact that Kaidan can't get over his trust issues annoys me greatly. I also found him pretty bland in ME1. On the other hand, Garrus has supported Shepard through the three games without any question... and his romance in ME3 is absolutely beautiful. I love the fact that you couldn't romance in ME1, the relationship arc feels much more natural that way. They grew from comrades, to friends, to partners in life. They completely trust and love each other. It feels natural, simple. Plus, DIPSMOOCH on top of the Presidium, how can you beat that?

Besides, in a weird way, he's incredibly sexy. His eyes haunt me.

I went with Tali on my first playthrough of ME2. Meeting her during that first mission was sort of like meeting an old friend. Haestrom sealed the deal, listening to the recordings of Tali talking about Shepard, and how she wished Shepard were there. It just felt natural.
