In my first playhthrough I chose the Synthesis ending and to keep it short, I think it was a very beautiful way of telling that the Reapers won. In my first playthrough I actually was very satisfied with that ending. They could keep it that way. Then I realized that every ending practically are the same, that made me think that there's something missing.
I don't need a happy ending, I was very satisfied with my interpretation of a Reaper victory. But as I said there's something missing. I guess people want a definite ending to Shepard's journey. Now that we don't, that's what makes people angry. Questions like, what happend to the Normandy crew, how did TIM and Anderson get to the Control Panel, did my decisions really matter? There's tons of questions no one knows the answer for, that's frustrating.
After all I can't say that I hated the ending, I liked it a lot in my first playthrough. It wasn't the typical hollywood ending with the heroes coming back celebrating with some epic battle music. However, the current ending could be great but right now it lefts me with too many questions and even if my decisions certainly mattered along the ride, I want them to pay off in the end. I want to go to bed and know that my next journey with Shepard will turn out completely different.
Did you actually hate the ending or do you just want it altered?
Synthesis, Control beautiful ways of showing that the Reapers won! (Anyone agree?)
