I've been one these forums for about 3 months, I've been a fan of bioware since I bought the first mass effect and dragon age games on sale at gamestop in 2010 after hearing hype about mass effect 2. It's been fun being on these forums, with the light hearted discussions about what could be in ME3 and what choices people made and the flamewars of the paragon v. renegade threads. But since the games come out I've been pretty much on these forums and have noticed a growing trend latley.

That trend is that the people who hate the endings instigating fights with people who either liked or didn't mind the endings. These instigation included posting spoiler information in the non-spoiler section, insulting others, claiming that the people were indoctrinated, or that they were puppets for bioware or EA and not true fans, and the most common one of all, the "you aren't smart enough to get it/ You just didn't pay enough attention throughout the games/ You don't appreciate the lore enough to understand" and basically insinuating that people who don't share the same opinions are mentally deficient in some area, whether directly or indirectly saying so.

Than theres the inodctrination theory, the one that has "almost as much plotholes as the endings", but that people keep insisting on shoving down everyone's throats. I have no probelm with fannon speculation, it can be pretty fun if taken with the knwoledge that it's just for fun, but the people promoting this theory are being too finatical in their approach, they insist that it's "the truth", named after the dlc that those same people claimed was fake.

This all brings it back to what this post is about, bringing to others attention that the fandom is tearing itself apart by allowing a view of no comprimise in their approach to this game. The haters attack the average person posting about their ending and how they didn't mind it, the defenders rush in and turn the whole thing into a flame war that no one else can post in. Than the indoctrination crowd pushes their endings on everybody, the we want answers faction pushes their "hold the line" stance, and the rest of the change the ending crowd bicker about whether we want na expantion of the endings, a alternate choice ending, a more explained ending, or simply a new ending that destroys the cannon of the first ending, and anyone who didn't hate the endings who makes a suggestion is instantly attacked for not hating the endings.

My point is this, their are too many factions for anyone to get what they want, and their are so many factions because of the way we treat others here who have a different opinion, with anger and condesention. For every "I'm glad you feel that way" and "I don't agree but whatever" there's the "YOU CAN"T DENY THE PLOTHOLES!!!" and the "YOU PEOPLE ARE STUPID AND SPOILED!!!" crowed who gets egged on by the others and who are never reigned in.

This hurts everyone, espically the fans who are reasonable ans middle ground, it makes everyone on either side of the debate look like raging adolesents who are spoiled and entitled and who shouldn't get their way. We need unity and cooperation, not some stupid divide, and that goes for the endings as well. People need to understand that bioware is actually listening and watching to see what we want, and I think whats taking them so long is that we have a thousand people shouting at them to fix the endings, and a thousand different opinions on how to do it, and a thousand people shouting those ideas down in favor of their own.

So, be nice, be civil, and treat your fellow poster with respect. They may have adifferent opinion than yours, but that doesn't give you the right to hit and run their post with condesending and hateful messages disguised as questions. Let it go, let them get their piece out thier and be like "I agree/don't agree with what you said" and move on. I garantee we'll have a much better chance of getting what we want if we unite together in peaceful co-exsistence than trying to convert eachothers to the gospels of our won opinions. But let's be frank, this won't happen, I know it, cause I'm just one guy, one guy who thought the endings were ok but wouldn't mind seeing ome more content concering the ending. People are prboably not even going to read this whole thing, so It'll either get buried or cause a flame war and be forgotten in about an hour or so. You reading this right now are probably one in a hundred who actually cared enough to do so, and for that I say thanks and I hope you take my opinion into consideration, I guess just venting what I felt will be it's own reward for me.
