Ok so I was playing Mass Effect 3 and I really noticed some very very ugly pixels going around in many many many spots.

I thought that, you know, thats how the game is. But then I saw the 360 version and there is no such thing. I have photos, only I dont know how to post them here.(any help would be welcome)

I noticed this first time I was on Tuchanka on the Genophage mission. In the cutscene where the Shroud is shown towards the end with the blue lightings in the sky, I noticed that the lightnings where a pixelated mess. I checked via HD 720p video on youtube the same cutscene running on 360. Apart from the fact that the cutscene on 360 run at 30 frames per second whereas on PS3 the game struggled at 15-20 frames (but we have a 31 page long thread about framerate already...) the lightnings on 360 where smooth and beautiful. No pixels no nothing.

Then I started checking other areas of the game, and really the PS3 has a lot of ugly pixealted spots. Remember the Hammer levels on ME2 for PS3? Something like that. Not as eye popping as this one, but still totally UNACCEPTABLE for a 2012 Unreal Engine 3 game running on a system (PS3) that has proven countless times, that it is much better than this...

Again I have photos. Tell me how to upload them and I will. Bioware, you promised parity between versions. I thought the only difference was the attrocious framerate, but this.... this is just WRONG with all letters capitalized. Why did you lie to us? Why tell us that the versions are going to be the same when clearly they arent??

Why do you treat your customers and fans this way??! I think we deserve some honesty...a fix... something...

Ok got some pictures up. The first one is looking at the shroud and the lighnting around it. Look at how pixealted everything is.

Then I started looking at the floor and saw piexels everywhere yet again

I consider this really ugly to be honest... I mean clear pixels?? In 2012? On PS3? I havent seen these since PS1... (well except Hammer levels on ME2 ...)

I mean come on really...and remember... this is just on PS3 it seems, at least the Shroud Lightnings which I checked are perfectly fine on 360...

Thanks. With the first image, I don't think this is something Bioware can change. The PS3 has unfortunately a disadvantage with alpha textures compared to the Xbox360, so in several games they they just use half res textures for special effects instead. Most of the time it's not very noticable, only in a direct comparison. Even exklusives like Infamous 2 do this and that was constantly the case in ME2.
Gladly with ME3 those textures are amost every time the same with only some exceptions.
If the shroud is lower res it probably means, that in this scene a higher res alpha texture would be too demanding.

The third image, I noticed this too on Tuchanka. Looks like there is zero texture filtering. Similar problem as with Hammer-DLC ground textures. I'm not sure why this happens, but since they never fixed it for ME2... :/

thank you for your reply. Here is one more picture again from tuchanka:

Is this the same on 360? I mean ok the Shroud Lightnings I know they are smooth in 360, but what about the rest pictures and this picture? Is this the same on 360, or similar? because really I havent seen such pixelation in any other PS3 game to be honest... I mean I could understand the textures to be blurry but not pixelated like a PS1 game... I mean what the hell lol? :)

I don't know about the 360 version, I play on the PS3 as well. But I agree, those pixelated textures certainly don't look right. Hopefully Bioware fixes the affected textures.
Have you noticed them in other areas as well? For me it was only on few spots on Tuchanka, the rest of the game looks fine :)

^^ Yes I noticed them mostly on the Tuchanka based missions myself. I will look in other areas now on my 2nd playthrough.

It really is unacceptable quality from a top tier developer in a top game, contender of GOTY... :(
