So I've been stuck for half an hour trying to get the fight in Redcliffe started.  I have gotten Dwyn's help but Murdock doesn't recognize that he's been persuaded.  I've intimidated (killed) and paid him off.  When i talk to Murdock my only conversation option is "i'll go talk to him" yet I've already persuaded him.  I also don't have the option with Dwyn to persuade him to blacksmith for the town... it's in all the FAQs I've seen but this isn't a conversation tree I have.

I've restarted the game and played for FIVE hours with a new character to get to the same spot with the same results - Murdock has some BS conversation tree that says "have you spoken with owyn" after I've already talked to him and no results.

I can't get the fight started and have tried everything.  I've reinstalled the game from my 360, played it from the disc, and done everything I can think to get this flag/trigger to recognize this.  I'm so frustrated!!!

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it?:(

Are you sure Dwyn is your problem? From what I can tell the ones you *need* to do are Owen (the smith) and the night at the top of the hill. When you get the smith to help and get the night to say he's ready you can talk to the guy in the center of town and say you want to wait until dark.

Have you talked to the knight by the windmill?

yes, owen is the blacksmith, not dwyn. also, after you get dwyn and talk to owen, you go to murdock 1st, then back up to the guy at the windmill to actually wait till dark and start the battle. hope this helps you
