Perfection.
I don't always agree with Angry Joe, but when I do, we're both angry.Storenumber9 wrote...
Angry Joe has made an ass of himself in the past in the spotlight of the gaming industry. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people consider him a joke.
I'm currious: What has he done?
(Not disagreeing with you, I just want to know what he's done)
Pretty sure he made himself seem like a bit of an idiot when he ****ed about the VGA's and the guy in charge of them.
Can't think of anything else though.
That's one pretty big moment.
Pretty much tried to bumrush the director of the VGAs, but didn't have any questions prepared.
He then tried to play it off by blaming the guy from the VGAs for making him look like an idiot. In truth, it was his own fault. A literal sh*tstorm insued.
That's one of the reasons why I don't follow him. The other being that I generally get nothing from his reviews. He either tries too hard to sound like he knows what he's talking about, or goes on about obvious points anyone could have gotten from a demo, or a trailer. Hell, even his points in the ME3 ending video he made are points that have already been established on this board 10,000 times, so it would only take 30 minutes to an hour of research to get stuff for that video.
Truth be told, he's not that good of a reviewer. I respect him for not taking the side of the developers, but I'm not surprised. He tries to appeal to his audience by being the "white knight" of the gamers, going against the "corrupt, evil" corperations.
At least, that's what I get when I look at him.
Fair enough. I understand why you don't like his reviews and I respect that.

Angry Joe speaks the truth.
Also, it's wildly unnerving, to hear Angry Joe speaking calmly.
Agreed, it's distracting to say the least. I think he was trying to sound professional but it just comes off as scripted and lifeless. He's ranting about having a lack of emotion essentially, and he himself sounds emotionless mostly. It's counter-productive.
Honestly I've never heard of the guy until right now, but 1 or 2 of the points went over items that I had not considered. otherwise most of it was a rehash of these forums and the gamefront article.
The best explination I've found so far, that takes a step back and analyzies it from purely a narative perspective is a rather long essay I found lurking around here
http://www.themetaga...oblem-with.html
It concentrates on why people feel the way they do and what makes a good story rather than acutal details or points on the ending.

Yes... it's even more intense if you know his normal modus operandi

I just have to say this: what a fantastic read! Not only validates everything I feel towards the endings, but also makes incredible technical sense.
Thanks so much, blmlozz, for providing the link!

A pretty popular reviewer puts all our points, images, and thoughts (including a few most HADN'T thought of) into a well-presented video, that DOESN'T require pouring over the forums, and people complain its stuff we already have talked about?
Damn. I don't even have words for that. Its just silly.

Those of you complaining that he rehashes what we have been saying... seriously?

Agreed, he's making it easier to find all of these issues - otherwise you'd have to dig through thousands of posts to find those images and the points he made. Not fun if you're new to the movement.

Angry Joe is a schmuck and is trying to cash in on the unpopularity of the game.
What makes you think that?

I love how he put more research and effort into attacking the endings than "professional gaming journalists" did in defending them.
EXACTLY
and the fact he didn't play up to his online character during it stops people dismissing it as "angry gamer ranting"
