I do not want a happy ending BS

So if we don't like ME3's current ending that means we want a bull**** sunshine and rainbows ending?

As Joe said, why NOT have a happy ending?  It's my main reason for joining the chorus here.  Plenty of polls show how a very large portion do, too.

That wasn't my point. It looks like Costin is saying people ONLY want an ending were Shepard lives, saves the galaxy, all races are peaceful with each other and Shepard gets married. I am not opposed to an ending where you sacrifice millions or Shepard dies but Bioware did a bad job still imo.

Look at the end of Deus Ex 1 can join the Illuminati, destroy the world network or Merge with the Helios AI but the game was built up around that from the very beginning. Mass Effect was not it just takes a sudden shift.

Ah, I think I see.  Yes, I am NOT opposed to multiple types of endings than run the gamut of getting butt****** by the Reapers to Shepard and crew/LI surviving and being reunited.  If anything, THAT was what the series seemed to be building up to.  I know I thought so when I played the first 2 games.

Yeah, "WHY NOT!".

This is Mass Effect we are talking about. The game that told us (or used to) that our choices mattered! I can't even call the ending they gave us a sad one either. Why can't we have both sad and happy endings?

Edit:

@Skelter192

I see what you did there... aha. I agree.

The 'angry' in the name is quite misleading. This was actually a very well thought out video and expresses valid concerns with the endings that many of us share. It also points out the blatant contradictions on what was verbally promised (or at least implied) to fans before the release of ME3 and what we actually got.

He's normally much more expressive in his videos than this.

He talks like this during certain videos (only one other comes to mind that I can't remember the game of) to show utter dissapointment.

Actually, I think the only other video where he spoke like this was with Dragon Age 2, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

Any universally "Happy" ending would be as great a misstep as the current endings. It would undermine the entire theme of sacrifice that Mass Effect 3 had done such a great job of building.

Yeah, those quotes are very d@mning at the beginning.  They're just so utterly false based on what we got.

Wow. That is an awesome review of these endings. This should help anyone who hasn't played the entire series, anyone who doesn't "get it", and any devs in denial to finally come to grips with this travesty.

Bravo, Joe.

This indeed was unnerving because he is speaking so logically, calmly, and quietly, because he, as befitting his nickname, is always over-excited in doing his reviews.

By doing this so calmly he amplified his dissatisfaction with ME3, I think.

Anyway, such a great video that NAILED most of the things we have been saying.

..Still, there will be THOSE people who say 'oh those points are all refutable', no doubt.

this guy got it all right.... there are probably like 20 more things that makes the ending horrible aswell. so this is just the tip of the iceberg to be honest.

If by amazing you mean "certain people in the higher ups probably wish the Internet didn't exist since their remarks are now recorded for posterity" then yes it was indeed amazing.

exactly ! that is definitely the mass effect we are talking about. the fact that in both previous games you can overcome unimagenable odd's and still win with a happy ending or bad ending if thats how you so choose.

thats not what we've got with mass effect 3. the game deserves better than this crap -_- THE SERIES deserves better than this crap.

Reminds me of Jeremy Jahns' review of the ME3 ending where Garrus and Shepard are at the beach just joking with each other despite the fact that there are dead reapers sticking out of the water XD He even did a killer Garrus impression.

So he didn't list every damn thing. It's a top 10, and I agree with all of his points and more. Don't belittle his feelings and that video by slapping HE DUS IT 4 DA MONEY.

He ignores one ending that is very important, and yes he DOES do it for the money, like every video he does.

Then indulge everyone.

Why is it so earth-shattering important as to negate the criticisms mentioned?

Very well done. I'd be pretty ashamed if I were a developer and someone was so easily able to throw my work in my face like that. I particularly like the "A, B, C" quote and graphic along with the side by side ending showing how "wildly different" they were. Good stuff.

I can't speak for AngryJoe's other reviews, but I did watch this video and he obviously did his research. The video does a good job of summarizing several key issues with the ending that have caused the uproar.

It's a top 10 of the things he hated about the endings. A top 10, by its very nature, implies the list will not be entirely comprehensive. I'm not sure what the problem is?

The Citadel, the biggest mass relay in the Galaxy, survives in Control. He makes it a point to state that it sucks that all the Relays get destroyed in all the endings.

Well how about he explains THIS then. This is in control.

Image IPB

The Angry One: Why would anyone pick that ending is beyond me really. That there will be peace? Really.

I mean you just gave the Reapers free will in all their actions. Congratulations to the people who picked that I guess.

The issue with the relays getting destroyed isn't that "every one of them becomes destroyed"  It is that galactic life as they know it officially ends.  Even if just the Citadel is left as the one relay left, it still means every other relay is destroyed.  Every star system that had the relays are destroyed (if we are still following what is supposed to be canon, but I'm pretty sure Bioware didn't care about previous canon, taking the "canon is what I make it now" thing.)

Trillions of people are going to die, either in the initial blasts, or the "fallout" from lack of trade, food, fuel etc.  In your rush to disparage those you disagree with, you fail to understand their point.

Based on the billions of lives already lost, ANY ending is going to be tinged with sorrow.  I mean, Earth is destroyed.  It may recover eventually, but it is absolutely wrecked.  Whole planets have been lost and some species may not recover.  I'd say that an ending where Shepard and your crew survive with the Reapers defeated would still be sufficiently "bitter-sweet."
