It's ironic, and sad. The entire series touches upon our differences and being able to work through them is what makes the galaxy amazing and worth fighting for. In the end, the only way we can achieve peace is by forsaking what we have been striving for and accept that we must be the same.

Especially since, as Joe pointed out, Javik explains that his civilization fell BECAUSE of their utopic and singular mindset, and their inability to adapt.
