I'm equally baffled everytime someone defends these endings. So far the only argument people use when they defend these endings are "DARK IS DEEP AND ARTSY, HOW DO YOU NOT SEE THE PURE WIN OF THESE ENDIGNS?". Would anyone care to elaborate this? How DOES the ones who like/support the endings justify the flaws and plot holes, or the unkept promises of "there wont be an A, B or C ending".

Some are just trolling, some are working for Bioware, and for some I'm sure it's just a matter of taste. I've encountered some people who genuinely like it and that's good, opinions are opinions.
I hated it, nobody is going to talk me off that point and if someone liked it, I don't expect to talk them off their point.

I could be really, really rude and describe my true feelings about most people who like the endings but... I think it's a mixed bag of people not paying attention and just nodding their head along and others being contrarian just to be a contrarian.

I thought the way everything was hinted to finish up as would be a very interesting base to set a possible ME4 in. But the execution was just flat and somewhat nonsensical.

I think someone needs to explain why everyone is so divided, even among those who hate the ending.

People who dislike the ending:

-Either hate the Space Kid

-Hate the Plot Holes

-hate both

It's because people are entitled to their own opinion. Just because there are people who like the ending are a minority, doesn't justify to completely ignore them and calling them names like most people on these forums do.

I, dislike the endings, but I respect those who like them. I dislike them only because the plot-holes. The Bitter ending itself, the music and the dramatic scenes made the ending kind of Epic.  when ignoring plot-holes, obviously)

Oh crap, haters incoming!

I would think the casual crowd with less of an investment then us, and who aren't necessarily looking for a game to logically be consistent and more to just kill 30 hours on an otherwise intense and good story won't care quite so much, sadly.

For the most part, it seems like people that felt like the ending was deep and didn't notice or didn't care about the plot holes.

OR

They enjoyed filling in all the blanks with their own story and imagination.

The Music, perhaps they've not played the previous 2 games, or perhaps they have simple tastes.

Anyone who liked the ending has likely not played the first couple Mass Effect games or has not payed attention to the story AT ALL. I haven't even heard one person who explained WHY they like it in both an honest and reasonable opinion.

I respect their opinions of course, but honestly I feel as if most of them must not have played ME1 or 2. Or at least they didn't put a lot of attention or time into the previous games and so they miss the "wrongness" of the endings.

It's a generalization though. I know there are people in the world who just ADORE "tragic" endings with artsy "bigger than you or I" concepts...even in a video game...a video game promising choices...

It's called an "opinion".

Something which people clearly aren't tolerant of here.

Just look at all the insulting posts in this thread alone.

Saying you did is meaningless. Please tell us what was likable about it. Any conclusions you can draw from it?

Not to be insulting or generalizing, but so far almost everyone I've seen say why they like then ending show a drastic lack of attention to details. They just think "oh its symbolic, okay yay I like that!" without really caring or trying to figure out what its supposedly symbolizing. Or they also show a lack of consideration for the off-screen repercussions of what occurs on-screen.

The few people who recognize the problems but don't dislike it seem to just be in the "Meh, its just a game I don't care" crowd rather then actively claiming to like it. No offense but apathy is not a real opinion so it doesn't matter.

If you played ME3 on its own without any of the investment in the others, the ending is probably 'average' rather than 'epic fail'. Many of the people who 'like' it, still don't 'love' it.

An extremely high suspension of disbelief or being contrarian.
