Hi there
I'm eager to get into ME3 having just purchased it, but so far I only have one character save from ME2 to import into the new game. I want to now quickly speedrun through ME2 with another character in order to import him into ME3 and get the best experience.
My question is, apart from the recruitment missions, loyalty missions, and main quest collector-fighting missions, what other missions in ME2 will help shape certain aspects of ME3? I want to do the run as quickly as possible but I also want to make sure I do everything that will go on to create a better experience for me in ME3.
Basically, i'm the kind of guy that liked how in ME2 I would recieve messages from people that i'd helped/hurt in ME1. I especially liked the random encounters with people like Helena Blake, and that annoying Fan. If someone had made this thread asking me what things to do in ME1 to get a better experience in ME2, I would have mentioned that he should go back to the citadel more than once in order to interact with people like the Fan, for example.
So what things can you guys reccomend to make sure I do in ME2 that will give me things like that in ME3?
Thanks to anyone that's willing to lend me a hand here.

I would say that if you want full experience in ME3, complete every mission and interact with all npc possible in ME1 and 2. To speed it up, change difficulty to easiest. I think both games might be possible to complete in a weekend or two. (20-30 hours per game)

If you are speaking only from ME2 point, then recruit and loyalty missions are enough to get best parts out of the game.
If you don't mind +25 readiness from Samara you can skip her (you can complete game without recruiting her). Monastery is better with out her (and she acts like automoton) and if you get Morinth you only get a mail in return nothing more. For most emotional impact you better have Mordin, Thane, Grunt, Miranda, Jack, Tali and Legion alive by the end of Suicide Mission. Also Wrex is much better than having Wreav on Tuchanka part so have him alive on ME1.
Most NPC interactions carried over from ME1 anyway. I don't remember anyone specific to ME2 on ME3 (Speaking for Non-squad/crew members).

I liked the overlord aspects they added to me3. They added more from the dlc's then i thought they would in this game. For full game experience if you have or want the dlc's i go with shadow broker and overlord packs. Arrival isnt really necessary although it gives one of the versions of the back story why shepard was in house arrest

20 hours for ME2 doing all NPC interaction and side mission (I just did this) and I'd say like 30 for ME1, maybe a little faster if you know what you're doing.
