Well, it's not that random. I randomly have freezes but in the inicial loadling screen (before the title menu) or when the loading screen is the normandy flying. I had a LOT of freezes by now, sometimes is just irritating. Every time it freezes I have to hard reset my PS3 and do that hdd scan it does everytime it doesn't shut down properly. AND every achivement that has a counter in it (like number of killings, or whatever its name is) it comes back to ZERO!!! I have an 80 gb fat PS3 (MGS4 version). And I have the digital version from PSN.
I need a solution NOW.
I've tried deleting the game data from my PS3 and play without connecting to EA servers. It seemed like it was working that way, but it turned out that it isn't.
I repeat, I NEED A SOLUTION NOW. I BOUGHT THIS GAME AND I CAN BARELY PLAY IT.

Having a similar issue, my PS3 whenever I am on the citadel freezes when the autosave starts or the television goes black but I can hear all the sounds. Its not my HDMI or my PS3. I am having to hard shut off my PS3 as well which is not good for it. HELP PLEEEEEEZ!
