Bioware is so good at trolling it's not even funny. Rarely does an ending ruin a game- even rarer does it ruin an entire trilogy.
Mission accomplished.

Let's tone down the rage a few steps , and eliminate the name-calling and insults. Thank you.
It's kind of difficult to NOT be angry about being lied to about the vast majority of these things that were said, and I for one feel insulted that I might have to actually pay for DLC to get the things promised to me. If this situation isn't resolved soon, Bioware will have at least three less fans. That much I can promise.
Fixed that for you
And you.

My guess is that for there to be the variety and variability in the ending that Bioware talked about, it would involve a SIGNIFICANT outlay, and, for EA, that outlay was not justified in that it would not lead to a significant increase in revenue (unlike multiplayer). EA wants resources invested in areas that will make the most profit, and I guess they thought that doing multiple grand finale endings was just not worth it. It is sad, but I expect to see more and more AAA games do this.
The choices you see in the ME games are really just an illusion of choice. They might change dialogue responses and the presence or absence of various characters, but I think that choices that lead to a lot of extra animation/design work are few and far between for the reason I have just outlined.
That's my theory anyway. If Bioware had unlimited funding, I'm sure the game would still be unreleased and they would be working on multiple branching storylines / endings that would satisfy everyone. Unfortunately, EA needs a return on investment of a certain percentage within a certain time period.

if you think taking this federal is good than im sorry but you are wrong on so many levels
where will it stop?
should some anti same sex protesters file a complaint now since same sex choices are in games?
or how would you feel if someone filed a complaint to the ftc about game violence?
your opening a can of worms that you dont understand at all because this can be used for more than just a ending of a videogame
So you're saying that it's ok for game publishers to not have to follow the same consumer protection laws as every other industry?
Simple fact is that selling a product based on not having to launch MP to get the best ending, and then delivering one that you do is called "Bait and Switch."
Bait and Switch is illegal in the USA.
The reporting agency which you contact for Bait and Switch complaints is the FTC.
Continuing to ignore the actual stated reason for the complaint and crying "You just didn't like the ending" repeatedly is just dumb.

Well done OP. For me it's less about the content of the ending than all of the hype turning out to be misleading.

Well it depends. All it would take is a certain character to survive and certain things not blowing up and it would have been fairly easy and cheap to do. Personally I would have been satisfied with a DA:O epilogue if the previous statement held true. Followed by a post epilogue scene with your LI.

well yeah because the a,b,c choices are the same thing so theres not really much for us to decide about ? its just a one way ending just like any other regular game, so yes they lied

Except they didn't say "there won't be partial nudity, homosexuality or swearing" before, so its not false advertising, so FTC would ignore it...
again that still dosent change one christian filing a complaint saying they're against same sex romances
That's a bit of a silly comparison, "gays" are not illegal so the moron could file it if they wanted to but it would be rightfully dismissed.

I am seriously interested in your thoughts on the topic. I will give them great thought. Can you tell me what you did like about the fans who are giving you problems?
I am sure that in the 2 days since this was posted, someone else has complimented you on it. I think it is worth re-mentioning.
This is absolutely the greatest response ever given to anyone ever. The fact that he totally missed your point just makes it funnier.

Haha, thanks for noticing. I don't think so but I haven't read every page. I'm glad someone got the joke. I should use it more often to get across how we're feeling about the lack of serious communication.

I read no insults in the original post, just the plain TRUTH.
Or people that blatantly LIE should be addressed as "truth trimmers" or "truth beautifiers"?
You lied, Bioware....you LIED. =(

This character probably DOES like making videogames, but he just lost touch and with that, talent and care for details.
This is all(of course), just assumptions and I'm just talking out of my ass, but before I can make any statements, wether they are positive or negative towards one of my most beloved videogame developers, I want someone from the staff who was very closely involved in the game's development, to tell me one of two things:
A) We're sorry we lied to you. You're right. This is just business and you're just costumers.
Now, both statements could clarify a lot of things; Statement A sets me at ease, because I am now 100% certain that this company no longer cares for their games or just cares more for the money which(honetly) is a fair notion. I won't blame them. Charlie Chapln once said he only got into the comedy act for the money.
The second statement is the one that I can't seem to trust. The game's tone and emotion was perfect until the ending. I refuse to believe that they ran out of ideas by the last hour of creative writing. But even still. If that's the truth, then I'm okay with it. I fervently believe that's not the case, but meh...
I still cling to the possibility that they are just being pushed by EA with insane date lines and their heartless, greedy intentions. This is taking its toll in their talent and ability to make a good game which I still believe they have.

This and then some. I find it truly bizarre at how far people are willing to defend BioWare or game corporations. Fact is, they promised features and advertised their game a certain way, and it didn't live up to that.
As a consumer who paid for that product that was advertised as such, they owe that much to you. If this was any other industry, this would not get a pass so easily.

P.S. Yes, I thought the rest of the game outside of the endings was pretty fantastic... although I was on a Garrus-romancer at the time, so apparently I lucked out; I can't bear to bring over my Thane-gal, and I refuse to bring over my Kaidan-gal as it'd just be the same game/ending all over again.

For what?
Things from that list aren't even lies, just things fans misinterpreted and made better.
You got nothing else better to do than compile a list of things you subjectively classify as lies and go serious about a sue on Bioware?
In moments like this I wish the Reapers were real and they'd drop on the heads of people like these...
