Considering that you're dooming billions of lives in all the endings by destroying all the mass relays (you killed millions by blowing up the Citadel too), cutting off several worlds that were ravaged by the Reapers (Earth, Palaven, Thessia) from much needed supplies and overall support to rebuild? Not to mention the thousands of ships in Earth's orbit, consisting mostly of alien ships that'll never see their own homeworlds again? Yeah. Some choice.

Do I need to mention how the ending completely ignores how or what you acquired and did to gain those war assets and is just looking at the score to decide whenever it should give you a 30 second clip of Shepard taking a breath after surviving what I'd assume would be another orbital drop?

Or how you're effectively doing the Reapers' job for them, when the goal of the entire game was to stop the Reapers, not shake hands with them and in some weird and twisted way try to justify the destruction of thousands of civilizations in the previous cycles?

It must be fun, knowing that Mordin's, Thane's and Legion's sacrifices were for no good reason whatsoever as well.

Victory comes at cost. Citadel doesn't have to be destroyed. Mass Relays don't necessarily kill anyone. Trillions on colonies and homeworlds are probably alive, which they wouldn't have been without Shepard. You suffer terrible losses, but you stop the cycle of destruction. Stargazer tells stories about Shepard.Life continues.

Yes victory comes at a cost but the cost doesn't really have to be that freaking high and yes colomies probably are reliant of outside supplies and are most likely screwed and galaxy is forced into new dark age.

If you played Arrival in Mass Effect 2, when the relay blows up at the end, it takes out the entire system, killing hundreds of thousands of Batarians.

That's because you slammed an asteroid into it.

So when the the galaxy at the end of the game showed the chain of explosions of Mass Relays, you thought literally thought that people could survive THAT large of an explosion?

Ha!

Edit: Didnt see any asteroids in ME3 either.

Because they marketed the game as choices having decisions and the ending would not be an ABC option. They are liars and need to make it right.

From the cinematic it is clear the explosions spanned multiple systems. I dont think a planet stands much of a chance against that.

Kinda seems like overloading the Mass Relays with a space laser would make it even worse.

Also, space magic.

Of course, they have a "moment of weakness",then chill and realize it's not the end of the world. I reacted the same way you did the first time I saw the ending, and then...I took a deep breath.

We're talking about Arrival, Mass Effect 2 DLC that bridges the two games together.

I'm sorry to say it,but being civil doesn't seem to work around here. And don't worry,I don't care about the book.

And I respect people fighting for their beliefs, but when I find those beliefs ridiculous,it's a little hard to remain respectful. Don't hate me,I'm only human.

- The losses are huge (like I already said),but not everything is lost

1. Not that it matters. Shepard (His Catalyst-Shepard hybrid form, at least), like any person, will A) go insane from the isolation or B) go insane with the power.

2. Not to the point of "Super nova or no super nova". Regardless of how they blow up, their immense eezo core would release more energy than a nuclear ICBM.

3. Irrelevant as well. If it's a colony, then it's at least semi-dependant on external support, to a point (Freedom's Progress with the military mechs, Horizon with the GARDIAN lasers, etc). The homeworlds (Which were hit the hardest) will almost certainly be unable to support a population (Remember Palaven burning?)

4. See above.

Okay.

Then how come the Guardian didn't help Sovereign?

How come Joker retreated when no other ship did?

How come that the squadmates that were killed by Harbinger (yeah, Harbinger is really the kind of guy who'd shut up about an event like that too) magically reappears on the Normandy without as much as a scratch?

If the Guardian had this galaxy-wide altering power, then why didn't he use that before starting to slaughter trillions in some intensely idiotic fashion by building synthetics to kill organics in order to stop other synthetics from killing those organics?

There's one thing to sacrifice to win, and then there's to sacrifice just to provide a "dark" tone and to smack the player in the face about how serious the situation is, as if he/she can't figure that one out for themselves.

None of the sacrifices in the game served any purpose in the endgame whatsoever.

Shepard brought the smartest scientists in the galaxy to work on the Crucible, but it doesn't depend on them at all or which scientists you recruited to work on it. There'd have been no difference if you'd so revived a colony of Prothean scientists to work on it or if you had let a team of vorcha build it with a box of hammers and some metal sheets.

None of your choices previous to the ending are reflected in any way, rendering them almost completely pointless.

It doesn't matter which race you side with either. They won't provide any tactical advantage when compared to the other race whatsoever. It's all running on the player's preference.

Hell, with the multiplayer, I can make the N7 team more valuable war assets than all the fleets and scientists combined if I so desired. How would that make sense from the in-universe perspective?

The endings are utter crap compared to what they could have been. I've seen people coming up with better endings in mere minutes.

I was pointing out the fact on how the asteroid being slammed into the side the Relay made no difference on how much damage it did.

Also, yes i do realize we are talking about Arrival, which is a piece of crap compared to the Shadow Broker DLC. I guess it still beats Overlord.

That is soo bad fanfiction logic.

That is like saying...

"Well how do we know Voldemort is dead? It was not a direct spell it was just a rebound."

Sorry, Harry Potter nerd.

See all evidence before in the story telling and lore points to the Mass Relays always blowing up with such force.

If speaking to them is aggrevating and is not producing a constructive debate, then don't reply. As community members, they have the right to protect the current ending, just like we have the right to voice our concerns about the ending.

As for civility, I don't know if the more hostile pro-ending people were attacked for their beliefs by radicals from our side. If that is the case for them, then I regret that it happened.

But when they base harrassment of the other side on percieved superiority or just out of a need to get a rise out of people, the only cause they hurt is their own, as they diminish the credibility of the pro-ending/anti-ending camp by mis-representing the many reasonable folk who believe in Bioware's rights as an artist/rights of the consumer.

So if its not civil and constructive and is playing on negative emotions, tune out. Fight fire with water. Its how I'm getting by on this forum.
