Bioware made a mistake and if they want to retain my business, they will fix it. That's why they should make an ending DLC.

To you, they made a mistake. But in reality, they made the game the way they wanted to and that's their right to do it. Which is why they said they're not changing the ending because they like it.

Name calling? Immature post is immature.

Well it's the truth. Since when was telling the truth inmature?  Sandra Fluke is a ****, and their isn't a good reason Rush should say otherwise.

Aside from your terrible spelling (inmature, their)  you come across as condescending, selfish and quite immature. It is for these reasons i will leave your topic and not return.

What promises did Bioware break again? It can't be too hard to actually name a few and back up your claims.

alizrak.wordpress.com/2012/03/18/the-broken-promises-of-mass-effect-3-spoilers/

And how are those promises?

It's called marketing....  It's what they say to make you buy the game.  It's what they're selling you.  If I buy what they're selling me and it turns out that what they say their selling me is not what I bought,  then it's false advertising.

Not that complicated.... shouldn't have to explain it.

Dur it's called advertising, not promises, for a reason. That said you can't prove what they said was true or not. Clearly you and many other are taking things out of context deliberatly.

For example sparing the Rachni was a big help in the war assets department, someone else might think otherwise. You can't prove that the Rachni were or were'nt a big help in the courtroom, it's a matter of opinion.

Also early on they said there was going to be a trial, later it was cut. Where they breaking a promise there?

Actually... making money trumps all... If they can make more with different ending... different ending it is... it's all that matters in the end.

If they didn't care about hits to the reputation after the travesty that was Dragon Age II, I hardly think they're going to start caring now.

They did so well in ME3 though... it was almost perfect... Except for the parts that were so lazily done that they basically run everything...

If we didn't care about Bioware or their reputation we'd be silent I think...   I'd rather Bioware not be known for DA2 and ME3's ending.   I want my old Bioware back.  :(

I agree to an extent with the exception of how side quests were really just one big planet scaning mini game. Over all aside from the last 10 minutes of the game I enjoyed it quite a bit. For the game to end on such a sour note especially after MANY quotes from Bioware devs stating the opposite would happen prior to release I think that is where most of the outrage stems from.

I have zero issue with a developer doing their own thing, but when you tell the fan base one thing, then turn around and invalidate every choice they made over the course of 3 titles and  a 5-6 year series (more if you count ME1 development time) and phone in the ending to what other wise was a pretty solid Sci Fi experience it taints the whole thing.

Honestly though, I often get a very pretentious vibe from those within Bioware. More so since alot of negative feedback with how many terrible design decisions they made with DA2 and on. This isn't the Bioware of 10 years ago, Heck it's not even the Bioware of 5 years ago as alot of folks from those days, Trent Oster, Brent Knowles etc are long gone at this point.

It all makes sense now.

And to the people who don't like people's entitlement "issues", please leave if you feel so uncomfortable, nobody's attacking your family, we're simply voicing our concerns to a company.

These entitled brats would cause a terrible precedent if they succeeded. This would lead to devs compromising the integrity of their stories or worse yet, deliberately scam their fanbase with "ending dlc".

Name calling? Immature post is immature.

Well it's the truth. Since when was telling the truth inmature?  Sandra Fluke is a ****, and their isn't a good reason Rush should say otherwise.

Because it isn't the truth. It's a generalization to say that everyone who wants a new ending is an "entitled brat." Generalizing a bunch of people you don't know and being unable to argue in a civil manner is immature.

I don't get why there are people trying to stop Bioware from making a new ending dlc... If you don't want to change your ending DON'T DOWNLOAD IT.
Nobody's going to be satisfied with any ending to such a great series, but the endings as they stand are limited, confusing and pretty bleak.

It's true Bioware owes us nothing. Nor do we owe them anything, including the courtesy of ever buying anything of theirs again. The choice and analysis is of course up to them, but we may still speak about it.

I would say that they do indeed owe us something, namely delivering what they promised in their advertising.
Legally speaking, not doing so is fraud.

It's about standing up for your rights as a consumer.

And there is us,protecting BioWare's rights as a developer. Right to finish their own story in their own universe.

End of the line.

Part of what makes people so upset at the ending is precisley because it doesn't seem like Bioware made this ending. It feels like an entirely different writing team for an entirely different game wrote it.

In large part, that's true, because it's pretty much an exact copy/paste of the ending for the original DeusEx game, right down to the same colors for each option. Idea for idea, word for word, your 3 choices are pretty much identical. Except that DeusEx's endings actually were 3 very different outcomes, unlike ME3 where all 3 options shared 98% of the same ending.

Also, nobody from Bioware is going to come on the forums and give you magic cookie for protecting them from the "evil whiners".

It's not about my ending - it's about BioWare's endings. They are entitled to them.

Pretty much this. And they said they like their endings and have no intentions of changing them.

no, it is not the truth because by saying that you are calling all of the people who want the ending to change "entitled brats", but immature though maybe not, but seboist and cappy are ignorant/uneducated for sure.

To you, they made a mistake. But in reality, they made the game the way they wanted to and that's their right to do it. Which is why they said they're not changing the ending because they like it.

Business does not work that way. "We're not changing the ending because we like it" is not going to make shareholders happy.

And sticking in the mud like that with an attitude like that is the best way to lose business and customers.

If Carls Jr gives you a Chicken Sandwich when you order a Famous Star, you're well within your rights to ask for that Famou Star. If the manager insists that Famous Star means Chicken Sandwich, fine, but he won't be getting repeat business most likely.

Also,I remember someone from BioWare once saying something like this: "everything you see or hear is a subject to change. Nothing is final until the game ships".

You guys always complain about Bioware doing things "businessy," but then you defend your opinion by saying "they need to listen to us if they want repeated business."

So what is it? Should Bioware make good business decisions or not? I love how you change your words around to suit your case. Even when it obviously contradicts what you were saying before.

If wanting an ending of an acceptable standard of writing quality is "entitlement", then, well, yeah, go ahead and call me entitled if it pleases you.

I respect people fighting to protect creative freedom, I just find it hard to believe that, given the precedent of 95% of Mass Effect 3, and 100% of 1 and 2, that Mass Effect 3's ending was the product of any kind of creative process.

Simply put, if this is the way they offer players who are vested in their stories "Closure" (IE, causing crippling confusion-induced grief) I will "Hold the Line", and never pick up another Bioware product again, and warn others the same.

It's the exact same thing I'd do if I saw a terrible movie. I'm not demanding they change their ending, but if they ever want my business back again, they'll at least take another look, and either stand by it, or acknowledge it was a trainwreck written in less time than it took to actually play out, and remedy the situation.
