I've been monitoring the progress every half hour or so. The percentage of people who liked the ending has been dropping periodically - generally about ~.1 to ~.2 % every half hour. (currently ~14.2%, last check was 14.4%)

It is.  But it's IGN's poll.  The inner child in me just want to see IGN squirm & scramble to think of a positive way to spin the results...

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, how IGN will address this 86% minority

They'll just say that whiners have no life and all the "mature, rational" gamers don't bother going online to vote on some poll, even if it's IGN's.

><

That would be plausible if it wasn't for the fact that since I voted (shortly after this thread was created) the ratio of likes to dislikes has remained roughly stable.

For every person who likes the ending 5 to 6 people dislike the ending.

If the poll had been bombed with "Dislikes" and suddenly thrown the ratio out of whack I'd agree that's a possibility but since the ratio is remaining constant it just wouldn't hold up as a legitimate claim.

Just voted...we need to rally behind this, as much as it pains me to visit any website tied to IGN whatsoever. Eww.

As much as I hate IGN, I voted anyway. It's never bad to let your voice be heard.

I indicated that I did not like the ending. I actually would have liked the ending if it had simply explained in some way how your decisions affected each important character and the galaxy as a whole. But it didn't, and I don't. In my opinion, all they need to do is a game update that just tacks on a little explanation at the end, and the game is good to go.

After all the belittling and taunting IGN has done is it even worth the time?

Colin Moriarty will just post another rage video about all the "entitled" people on Facebook hating on IGN's artistic freedom. :P

Yep.  They're one of the biggest gaming "news" sources out there.  If their poll shows how many people dislike ME3's ending, it's pretty important.

More than 85% of people who have finished don't like it. That's about as close to "universally hated" as you can get. For comparison, congress only has an 82% disapproval rating.

wow.

how's this for a marketing strategy EA?

"Mass Effect 3; the ending is only slightly less popular than Congress"

I will say this, at least IGN is starting to question things a little.
If they blindly thought that everyone would have voted ME3 to gave a great ending, then they're very deluded.
So far over 6,000 people think ME3's ending sucked, compared to 1,000 who liked it.
That's big enough to make people take notice.
They could have just as easily made a poll that asked "Are the ME3 fans demanding a new ending, whiny little babies?"
And y'know what, I bet 6,000+ people would have voted "No" too. Either way we win. ;)

Thanks for posting that.

VOTE because even the average executive knows what facebook is.  If IGN can get enough people voting the ending is garbage, a LOT of people will see it.  Right now it is 6-1 saying it is garbage.  Pretty much people that started with ME1 vs those new ME 3 players is my guess.

Out of 10000 voters:
"Are you happy with the way Mass Effect 3 ended?"
10,4% - Yes!
66,7% - Nope!
22,9% - Still playing

Hold the line.
