But yes, I hope you are right, Militarized. Everything just seems so poorly done and slapped together at the end of ME3, it just HAS to be fake, right? Right!?
Thats what I thought. Bioware is really smart, this is the last of their series. You think they would just forget about everything and rush the ending? That should be the most important part. Why else does the ending feel so different from the rest of the game?
This reminds me of portal 2's antics. To get the internet scrounging for clues and answers. Casey said himself, there is a BIG Twist at the end, and even went on record saying he wanted the ending to be Memorable and to provide speculation. All of this is happening now.

And what would I search for, not being aware of it in the first place?

The song title, lyrics and video is really the Biggest Amunition Bioware has given Retake. It also seems as though the original threads about this have been removed, at least they didn't show up in a search. Combining all of the lies that we were given from the Devs about the ending this alone shows one of two things. Either Bioware planned to essentially troll us with the endings, considering that a lot of the end was just copy and pasted from the song lyrics, we recieved then give us the real ones in a DLC or Patch, or they really have hit rock botton and just Copy and Pasted the Lyrics to this Song, the Name of it, the image and even the colors, combining that with Deus Ex: Human Revolution along with other popular movies and shows. Even you actually liked the endings how can you accept that Bioware has taken your hard earned money and gave you an extremely lazy, unoriginal, copy and pasted ending to the hundreds of dollars and hours you have spent playing these games?
We really need to get this circulated and let our critics and supporters see this video, it's essentially an Element Zero, Mass Effect Nuke for our already huge arsenal.
Even the three choices we are given are just copies of the three choices you have in the original Deus Ex

The amount of anger this song has drawn is stunning. The name "StarChild" is merely something ME fans dubbed the Citadel AI as, it's not in any way official. The lyrics are nothing special and no more than coincidence (in conjunction with the song title); go ahead and Youtube almost any power metal band and you'll find similar songwriting and themes.
Although this much is true, the picture that goes with it is the rug that ties the room together, dude.
The picture is just lazy design on Bioware's part. In such a rich universe as ME's and all the possible backdrops, they revert to a Google image stock photo. In saying that, the picture (dreary landscape, blue hues, overbearing planet/moon) is a common image in fantasy/sci-fi. Why Bioware had to resort that, I don't know.

Obviously becasue the entire ending is halfassed Garbage thrown together at the last minute, and it shows

Would love to counter act this, but the tweet has been mysteriously removed. For whatever is worth it though, I'll say that I'm almost sure to have seen this tweet myself BACK in the day when I was really hyped for Mass Effect 3, just after having beaten ME2 for the first time.rivqa wrote...

Oh I agree mate. But I just can't fathom their mindset when working on that entire ending sequence.

The lyrics goes about destruction ending the dream.
Part 2 (read: Choice 2): Background color = Green
The lyrics goes about diving into a bottomless sea(read: beam).
Part 3 (read: Choice 3): Background color = Blue
Lyrics goes with new energy received. Perfection.
And then Part 4 goes onto being lost in the dream.
There is... just add the background image as well. No doubt.
