The Wraith was nice if you weren't already using something that suited you better. I preferred the Graal, despite projectile speed. There are a lot of trade offs between the different shotguns, whether accuracy, damage, clip size, or weight. As a Vanguard, the Graal made the most sense, especially with the ability to charge up each shot. Disciple was just as fun and fast, but I came to find I liked the spread of the Graal's accuracy in the long run, especially lighting up targets with incendiary ammo.

Really helps with the tougher enemy types like Banshees and Brutes and it barely weighs anything. Stick a scope on it and you're laughing

With me having 100+k with Thessia coming up, I think I could get the Wraith before I hit the end of the game.

The Paladin could be interesting for classes that need a powerful, precise, long ranged weapon but cannot afford the weight of a Sniper Rifle. Not sure it's really worth such a heavy cost over the Carnifex though.

For all the raving about the Black Widow, it's actually pretty pointless for an Infiltrator if you have access to the N7 Valiant pre-order weapon. The Valiant will kill the vast majority of enemies in the exact same number of shots, shoots faster, weighs less and you get it for free.
Except the Valiant wasn't a pre-order bonus, it was a Collector's Edition bonus. All the CEs just sold out in pre-order this time. Given the popularity this time, I'm surprised a second CE (or Limited Edition) wasn't offered.
While I loved my M-98 in ME2, the Black Widow is superior due to the three shot clip. With the Level 5 Concentration Mod, I can usually get off two shots before the time dilation wears off. Though I wish you could assign the M-13 Raptor as an Assault Rifle so both are available at the same time.

Not sure about the Black Widow, but the Paladin is definitely worth it if you use a pistol. It's easily the best pistol in the game. Head and Shoulders above the Carnifex. The Black Widow is heavy, but it plays like a Mantis with 3 shots. I can't tell you how it compares on the Battle Field, because I've just done Vanguard runs. No sniper rifles for me.
Is it better than the one with unlimited ammo that can kill the final boss in two shots?

Black Widow is definitely worth it. The extended clip alone makes it a HUGE upgrade.
Paladin vs. Hand cannon? Too close to call. Very similar. But i got the Paladin in MP and it seems a BIT better.

Either way, Any credits I get now will be devoted to picking up the preset armors to finish off my entire collection of stuff to get.

It's really nice if you'd like to deal a LOT of damage real quick with a bit of stopping power. For me, it's tied with the Javelin.
EDIT: And fights have the tendency to end quicker.

I bought the Black Widow, but I've never actually used it. Garrus has an upgraded Widow (and infinite ammo), I've got an upgraded Javelin (with free scope mod effect), and I've never felt an absolute need to fire more than once per reload as long as I stick to headshots.

The pistol is AMAZING, it's like a tiny portable sniper rifle if you set it up with a scope.
I earned the Hijacker Achievement (Steal An Atlas in battle) with the Paladin & Scope (Extended mag, too)

Black Widow is alright if you want more than one shot per clip, but honestly, the Widow and the Javelin are better, especially for squadmates, who have infinite ammo.

What? The black widow destroys the widow and the javelin. On insanity the fact that damage doesn't bleed through defenses makes the extra damage from the widow and javelin useless (since you'll always need at least two shots to kill). Meanwhile, standard enemies without protection get one shotted either way, so 3 shots from the BW means 3 dead enemies vs 1. Vs single hard targets (brutes, banshees, Atlas) the black widow has much higher dps since you don't have to reload after every shot.
There's literally not a single scenario where the Widow/Javelin are better than BW. It's not even close.

Since ammo is everywhere in ME3, if I do an infiltrator again, I may just go with just the BW, no sidearm. It's that good.

I dunno, I can recall a few times where my sidearm definately came in handy.
And a tip when using the BW, if you shoot, scope out, then scope back in, that can bypass the time that you have to wait for the next shot.
For the sake of the thread... I recommend trying it out, at least.
