I recently completed my first playthrough (insanity infiltrator). I just wanted to share some of my insight.

I went striaght sniper-damage-headshot damage all the way and this was the first playthrough so I didn't have much in the way of bonus powers, Eventually settling on AP Ammo from Garrus to help with Armor. I hated sabatoge all game, eventually totally speccing out of it altogether.

What I did fall in love with was Cryo ammo and incinerate. I took the 100% bonus damage to frozen/chilled targets, and used Team Cryo Ammo and took EDI every time.

Basically I would scope up and fire my widow and stripe shields/barriers and chill the target. Then I would fore my incinerate and have EDI fire her incinerate and I would insta kill pretty much everything with a defense. Also worked great on armor.
