Don't get me wrong, the game ending (IMHO) is abysmal, but this thread should barely be one page long. BIOWARE are the people to be petitioning, not wasting time and energy getting stuck into one player and looking stupid in the process.

We see the result of finishing the Crucible and bring the Catalyst to the Citadel. Can't you judge the purpose on the result? The result was not to enable anyone to kill all the Reapers. How could any species aside from the one who built and controls the Reapers know how the Crucible works? That it was meant to test their solution?saracen16 wrote...
AlexXIV wrote...
Of course nobody understood it. They only had blueprints to something that was too high for them. Because it wasn't their plan, they just stumbled on it. Like all species before. Like all species before found the Citadel. The starchild says itself that the Citadel is it's home. And we have brought it back. It wasn't a weapon, never. And especially not one Shepard or anyone but the starchild could have used. The whole point was to check if the solution of the AI worked. And when Shepard got there ... more or less alive, the solution was proven wrong, so they had to change it.
You raise a few good points, but there is no evidence in game that suggests this. Blueprints had to start from somewhere, and it had to start from an advanced race. It could be the Catalyst's race, and it could be the race that came after. But no one knows. It's clear that a race must have began constructing it, not necessarily the same race that Starchild belonged to. Also, Vendetta says that the Crucible was the work of countless cycles, and each cycle added to it or improved upon it.Hell why do I have to explain the ending you, smartass?
Okay, now THAT's offensive. Take it back, or I won't continue this debate.
I should care less if you understood it tbh. Because I have read enough threads and participated in them and I have seen alot of approaches how people explain things. Point is, that alot of things seem to make sense at first glance, but they don't really.
The main beef I have is that Shepard accepts what the Crucible says without protest. As if it were perfectly logical. But it isn't. The 'solution' was created out of fear of AIs, and by nothing less than an AI. And organics, who are the ones who are most concerned are not being asked, but instead killed or forced into servitude as Reaper. And on top if it the AI suddenly lets Shepard make the call how the future should look without any good reason at all. The AI is billions of years old and created a test like this and then just leaves it to a 30 years old super soldier? Maybe we could scrap politics altogether in real life too and just ask some Commander from the Marine Corps how to fix all the problems that we have in the world.

Is that why they only made 2 DLC for DA2? Because they made alot of money from them and because don't do it for the money?saracen16 wrote...

Has it occurred to you that BioWare may have not done this just for the money? They never corrected DA2's ending, but they made a lot of money off their DLC. This is just history repeating itself.

It's damage control / flame bait. Do you honestly believe the OP is from a customer? It reads like advertisement. And that's what it is. And we have had enough of it. We want the things that are wrong with the game adressed and not this BS fan bashing strategy from Bioware.mkgregory wrote...

Ten pages full of pointless arguments later, the wheels are spinning and we're going nowhere. Sarcasm, meme images... ffs.

Ah, I see. So since my opinion differs from his, it is invalid. We're all adults here (hopefully). If someone can't emotionally handle a calm, rational discussion, then they should probably see a therapist. That's the majority of what I've seen in this thread and it's kind of the point of forums. He seemed to be coping just fine, so no need for refereeing.mkgregory wrote...

As far as ME3s ending goes, it feels like I've just been to a 12 star restaurant that cares only how the food looks on the plate, not whether its satisfying.

I took some advice and did it with a default Shep.
Seems to me that the people most happy with the ending are those that didnt have a save they continued from ME1. Since they started at ME3 they dont have the same expectations that their choices will really matter. Those of us that played the same Shep from ME1 have seen our choices matter all the way up to the horrendous ending. To have every choice we made suddenly become pointless is what hurts the most.

Bioware has absolutely no say in this, it's completely EA's decision. And about that, here's a link:

Again, I have been playing since 2007. I have two main Shep's that I started in ME1, and I've spent 300 plus hours playing the game.

I think alot of backlash against "I liked the ending"stems from this, a goiod few of us are hurting emotionally and that makes us kinda irrational.
Personally I just keep thinking about promises I made to characters that I'll never be able to deliver on.
I'll never be able to vist that bar in Rio with Jacob, and take Garrus along so we can drink on the beach, and Jack and Zaeed for those drinks I owe them.
I'll never be able to split that bottle with Dr Chakwas that I told her to save for our victory celebrations.
I'll never get to find out how well Liara and Javiks book sold.
I'll never get to see Tali Build her house on Rannock
Every time I think about stuff like that, all those little things that made me hope and believe I could some how pull a happy ending out of this, I cry a little inside that not only did I fail to do so, that it was impossible to do so from the very word go no matter how much the game wanted me to think otherwise.
That's why I hate the ending, it's why I'm sure many others hate the ending and that's why I envy you so very much.
