The irony being that I'm actually not as attracted to redheads in real life (or, more specifically, gingers). I prefer golden blonde (or light blonde) or dark brown (raven or chestnut) hair. Blue or green eyes as well, though I'm accepting of brown eyes.

Mainly because I am a redhead myself (and I won't lie, my hair is redder than almost every other redhead I've met, and I'm also not a ginger).

Not all redheads are gingers (at least, in the United States). The ones that aren't gingers are beyond hot (for examples, just go here: http://thechive.com/...redheads-girls/

For me though, it's a matter of complexion. I'm not huge on the pasty whiteness of gingers. I'm relatively tan from being and working outside all the time in the desert in a country where the heat index swells to around 98 degrees Fahrenheit at 7:00 in the morning, and is, at present, almost 109 degrees. I also don't have freckles on my face, and I have brown eyes, which is, for redheads, a rather unusual coloring that suggests a mutation might have occurred for me rather than having any inherent genetic red hair. I'm the only redhead in my family on either side for the last 2 generations.

I can't get over the fact that they're aliens. That kills them for me. It's not something I can find appealing, nor will it ever be. In Star Wars, the closest I'd go to is near-humans, such as Hapans, Chiss, or Zeltron. They're human sub-species, not truly different species.

Also, a side benefit to be a real redhead? You can tell a real redhead from a fake from miles off. And you can do it easily. I still have a few buds who point out a redhead and I have to tell them that no, she isn't a real redhead.

Hmm, yeah when I said redheads I was picturing the really fiery red hair that's likely exaggerated in the likes of Mara Jade and Mary Jane (hmm, I wonder if the initials are a coincidence) and not so much the orange hue typically associated with gingers. Though beauty is more than the sum of its parts. So anything could work, really. When I was a kid I wouldn't shut up about how I only liked blondes.  Obviously I'm more accepting these days. Blondes, brunettes, whatever. I think redheads stand out more because of their rarity than real preference. Though I am a sucker for blue or green eyes. But all this is aesthetics. I don't know if that stuff about blue eyes being more sensitive to light or indicating greater, or less, tolerance to alcohol (can't remember which) is true but it's not something I usually think about.

Strange. I would say Chiss are definitely more alien looking than asari, with their red eyes. That's not something you can really get away from. You can put a wig on an asari, but I don't think contacts will work for Chiss. And the technicality that they're human offshoots seems to be just that. What if they had gone with a common ancestor explanation for asari (you know, as opposed to none). Would that have been enough for you?

Also Zeltrons> asari. Wish we saw more of them.
