Hello,

There is no subwoofer (LFE) audio over Dolby Digital 5.1 in Mass Effect 3 for Xbox 360. I am using a Sony STR-DH520 receiver. I use HDMI for video and I tested audio both via HDMI and optical. I played the entire opening sequence and my subwoofer remained in standby (had received no signal). I only have a 2.1 setup so I cannot comment on the other channels. I tested a few other games (Gears of War 3, Shadow Complex, Geometry Wars 2) using both of these audio connections and all of these games had output on the LFE channel as expected.

For now, I have set my Xbox to only output stereo and I'm letting the receiver downmix the audio to the sub, but this doesn't sound very good because my subwoofer assumes it's on an LFE channel and thus has no cutoff frequency of its own.

Has anyone else gotten sound out of the LFE channel using ME3's Dolby 5.1 mix?

To add to this, it occurs on the PS3 (demo) as well. Must be working as intended. I'm disappointed they couldn't just mix bass below a certain cutoff to the sub or something. Not that hard to do, and people with surround setups are stuck with no subwoofer output at all.
