From the start I knew that ME was pretty much ripped off from B5,Star Wars, and a few other things but I was okay with that as long as the game was good.

Once they lied to me about the ending and not needing multiplayer to get single player endings they have no trust from me. The need to fix this. Even the non gamers I know have heard about this know and know that the markers of ME are in trouble for lying to fans with out my telling them now. They fix this of they die.

Hold the line for as long as it takes people.

It's EA that I don't trust. I don't trust them to back off and allow BioWare to do what it does best instead of squeezing them for every penny they are worth. It's insistence on revenue enhancing features like multiplayer, online passes and day-one DLC. The fact it dictates deadlines that are clearly hurting the quality of the final product. Dragon Age 2 in just over a year? A sequel to a game that took over five years to complete. Mass Effect 3 gets delayed for nearly 6 months and still looks like it needed extra time to work out bugs and features. How bad must the original deadline have been?!

I could give BioWare all the trust I can muster but the influence of their owners is felt more and more with each game. I can't trust that they're running their own show anymore.

As things stand right this moment, Bioware as a brand that I once trusted and lionized is nearly irreparably damaged. They could save themselves, but that'll take a whole quarter of hail mary's. Considering how I currently view them, I don't think that will happen.

And I would love to be playing multiplayer and restarting ME1 right now. But I just can't do it. Nor can I bring myself to consider purchasing anything else they have or will put out, including ME3 DLC.

It just seems that after EA purchased Bioware it has gone downhill from there.

I would never trust in Bioware again unless they are willing to REMOVE current endings and give us more CONCLUSIVE/DEFINITIVE/LOGICAL/FULFILLING ones. Not just only one. I want vastly different endings according to my decisions.

I've loved their games and stories since Balder's Gate. Heck, I even played Jade Empire back in the day and nearly all their games since. Lately I've become skeptical and with this ME3 ending debacle, they have lost me as a fan.

What does that mean?

I won't recommend Bioware for their stories and unique gameplay anymore.
I won't pre-order any more Bioware games.
I won't invest much time or money (if any) in any new Bioware franchise.
I won't buy any DLC on day one.

I'm not saying I'll boycott all Bioware products, but I will properly vet them now before spending time or money--just as I would any unknown or unproven game company.

This ME3 ending shows something seriously wrong with Bioware, and frankly I don't want to be a part of it.

If this is the true ending, planned for ME3 all along, then they show great ineptitude with finishing an epic story. So, I can't be a fan of this type of company.
This doesn't make sense because of their fantastic story telling track record, so then the ending is just a botch job of beaurocrats and poor decisions. Again, I can't be a fan of this type of company either.
Or finally, it could be a great PR ruse with the 'real' ending coming soon, and we'll be magically transported to a fantastic and satisfying ending. If so, I still can't be a fan of company who would do this. It is cheap and silly. I want no part of it.

I'm still hanging around to see how bad this train wrecks, but Bioware is off my favorites list.

I still trust them. All your haters' problem is that you made this whole mistrust against BW yourself by spamming the forum that they want to steal money from us and that they don't care anymore about us etc.
That is your problem, not BioWare's. And only because they are silent now doesn't mean they screw us. First - they said they do listen and are waiting for more gamers to finish the game. And second - they are really in hard position now and instead of your support and understanding, you keep posting these awkward topics..

I think trust today is about pre-ordering vs. buying post launch. I personally would think twice before pre-ordering again, but I would still buy a game that is decently reviewed.

They have a thread stickied that says you can get the "best" possible ending with only SP but the amount of war assets need to get over 4000 EMS is not in the single player game so...NO I DO NOT TRUST BIOWARE when they LIE on the front page of their own forums.

I have faith that BioWare can still make great games. However, I have no faith in regards to their marketing hype due to this fiasco & the lies documented here and elsewhere. In short, any future purchases of their games will be when they are on sale.

@Turzan

Turzan brings up an interesting point. If BW was in fact taking new gamers into consideration which resulted in the ending, they should have had more faith in their IP. I personally think that newly exposed players would have been so enamored with the Mass Effect world, that they would immediately go out and purchase ME1 & ME2 just so they can see what the other endings could possibly be. Unfortunately, BW dropped the ball which turned into a pile of solid excretions.

Let's just say, I will never look at another BioWare game the same way again.
Bioware needs to "earn" my loyalty as a customer once again.

Do I trust Bioware to deliver quality products? Sure. I'm not going to let one mistake (although the ending fiasco is a major clusterf*ck) ruin my overall impression of the company.

That being said, I have lost some respect. I don't see how the brass at Bioware let such a crappy ending slip through the cracks.

Also, anything Hudson and Walters work on will not be preo-rdered. I'm adopting a "wait and see" approach in regards to their projects.

I was worried about what they did to Dragon Age 2, but I believed the developers when they said about the choices you make in the end.

If my crew dies, I would have liked to see how though, something at least.
