Does Anyone Trust Bioware Anymore?

Hmmm. I think I'll wait for BioWare to put an official statement out to admit they did themselves (and Shepard) short and will do just that what Mass Effect deserves. If not, we can't trust them to actually do what they say and advertise, simple as that. Misleading a loyal fanbase is a mistake, so for now I trust them to know they made a wrong turn and will sort things out.

So I trust them still, yes.

First it was Dragon Age 2 and now the ending for Mass Effect 3? What has happened to Bioware?

They signed up with EA.

My work here is done.

lol how can you not see that coming, no company is infallible.

I became skeptical when they announced SW:TOR, their priorities shifted from making the BEST single player RPGs straight to MMORPGSs... and now CNC: Generals 2... They are becoming less specialized in their field of single player role playing games. Also, they can afford to mess up in their single player games now and then because they won't be exclusively relying on RPGs to make a profit. Also, their brand name is still good, it will take more than a ****ty ending to an awesome trilogy to change that.

Companies change overtime, and with the high standard that bioware set, i think it can only go down.

It reminds me of something one of the NPCs said in jade empire about "going to the dark side":

"but when your abilities are so much greater than all those around you, there is the temptation to set everything right by might alone. that is the tyrany from within."

It is like saying:

"when your games are so much greater than all those around you, there is the temptation to be a douchbag and pretend to pull something artsy... like with the mass effect 3 ending"

Not anymore. ME3s ending killed my faith in them.

No. Bioware is dead to me. An ME3 ending DLC is the last chance they'll get to get money from me.
If they make one and its good, I'll get the other DLC too.
But after ME3/DLC I'm done with Bioware.

As long as we don't have an official statement there is no answer to this question, because we don't know their intentions.

No. After DA2, a complete disaster of a game and an example of how EA can rush Bioware games.
No. After TOR, a WoW clone that we got instead of KOTOR 3.
No. After ME3, where Bioware screws up the Tali romance and of course the infamous ending.

Unless BiowarEA release the ending patch dlc FREE, I will not buy any more BiowarEA products.

I trust games made before ME3, such as Dragon Age Origins (which I bought because everyone praises it and I need a good Bioware game right now to get trough this). Games made after ME3? Nooooope, I'm going to wait and see how fanbase reacts to them first. If it isn't overwhelmingly positive, no buy.

Haha, no... I stopped "trusting" them long ago, at least around DA:O. I know now that I'm not dealing any longer with that friendly neighborhood studio, but with the ebul ones. I still wanted to see how newer games turn out and kept buying, but not because I still love Bioware so much, but because I hope I still get at least a part of the expected storytelling and escapism from them. While I agree on most critics regarding ME3 and the endings, my expectations were already low enough after DA2 and I'm not completely heartbroken now.
But I think Bioware's reputation gets worse with every game, that they are probably the worst DLC-fan-milkers in the industry by now doesn't make it better.

Why would I trust a company that flat-out lies? Optional MP my ass.

Quoted for the Mother****ing truth.

Technically, it's not a lie. MP totally still is optional. You just can't get the "best" ending without it.

Uh, it is a lie no matter how it's spun. Jarrett Lee and Mike Gamble screwed up big time on the PR pre-hype. After all they did say "You're not required to play MP for the best optimal ending." Guess what, BIG ****ING LIE!

If Bioware was so concerned about the fans - and our responses ..... then why didn't they engage us before making this travesty?

I am done with them, I am not going to be taken advantage of again.

I took a break from COD MW, but at least, I know where it is coming from, I'll stick with FPS.

RPG from Bioware is dead.

I think I know what happened, it's called "Electronic Arts". At least that's what I want to believe, that my "good guys" were corrupted by an outside source.

Playing PC games is one of my major sources of home entertainment, and I've been playing Bioware's RPGs since Baldur's Gate. Many people pointed at SWTOR's weak points before launch and I replied "I trust Bioware, they are the masters of RPG". Now? If they do not solve this ME3 ending fiasco and actually deliver what they promised to their fan base, I'm not touching another Bioware game again.

I have been a long time fan of BioWare, but that has taken a blow with this godawful ending mess.

My future opinion about BioWare will be shaped to a large extent by how they respond to this issue.

They could really disappoint but also reassure and enforce my belief in them. We'll see what happens :)

EA happened. Seriously, most people are blaming BW when we should be looking at how EA has ran number of gaming companies into the ground. How BW thought they would be different is beyond me.

... Bioware is dead.

Once they were acquired by EA it was bound to happen. My hope was that ME3 would not be affected but that was futile.

There is little reason to trust bioware when they cut this many corners.

Nope. I understand if they made a medicore game or two (DA2, SWTOR), as it happens to all developers, but to lie to our faces multiple times is not something you can just look over or forgive. Whatever happens from now on, I certainly won't be pre-ordering any Bioware/EA games. I'll wait and see what the reviewers (not the publisher licking ones) and the fans think first.

Never trust companies. They are a business after all and business is never fair. That bein said, Bioware still releases great games, and I will continue doin business as long as they keep doin so.

I didn't "trust" them before.

Why I'd want or need to place trust in a corporate entity for entertainment products is beyond me.

Let me just say this

The good old day-
KOTOR
KOTOR2
Jade Empire
ME1
DA:O
(Even letting CD Projekt Red Studio uses your engine to make The Witcher)
ME2

The fall of Bioware-
DA2
ME3
End game content for SWTOR

-My answer is no. I do not trust them anymore. I want my old Bioware. EA please GTFO xD
